  1. I put off the 3rd attempt at this game when my squad was thoroughly annihilated by resident terminators. Today,I had my revenge. What's more I came back to reality in a (slightly more than) 5 hours, when I noticed that my head HURTS like hell. It's all due to 9" display of my tablet. and the fact that fonts in game is so small. Well,at least it serves as sort of restraining mechanism.God knows how long would my marathon of xenocide would continue if not for my eyes and head giving up. Haven't been so absorbed by the game in a very long time.Awesome.Developers should add disclaimer, like:"We are not responsible for your screwing up work, studies,or burning down your apartment while playing our games" And I can't help being curious-what is the official world-record for playing Xenonauts non-stop?
  2. You can break regular walls with 2-3 barrages of machinegun fire(which is why I don't use missile launcher on a scout),UFO doors will require double that amount of damage,or so it seems from my experience. One or two c4 also should be enough
  3. unfortunately when I installed Community edition mission results screen got a little messed up,and explanations under each rating are absent. In that case I got (top to bottom)terrible excellent excellent,if I remember correctly.Got the usual loot too
  4. Can this actually happen?I mean,if there were no survivors, why it took game 3 turns to recognize this fact?
  5. So... 2nd try at hard difficulty,3rd crashsite, and my guys are heading into Siberia. It's night mission,so flares all over the place are first order of business.Come turn 3,I finally got ready and into battle formation, click end turn and...MISSION COMPLETE! WHAT THE F-? No,seriously. No shots,no movement...the loot is in place,but...what?! So either this is a bug,and a strange one OR Aliens got acquainted with some siberian badasses and were shot in short order? *Note to self:get an Interceptor base in USSR and leave the rest to the locals*...O_o
  6. I have a question regarding weapons in this game: exactly how they are different? range\accuracy\damage...what else is there? How reaction fire and weapons relate? Can snipers actually snipe enemies out of their own vision radius?what about the rest(machinegans, assault rifles, pistols) I understand that it's theoretically possible to shot from behind an ally who is crouching(didn't tried it yet)-how likely for friendly fire to occur? is there any sense in using shields and vehicles? When to airstrike the crush sites?
  7. Hello everyone, name's Alex and I'm from Ukraine I recently bought Xenonauts with the latest Humble Bundle, and am ready and waiting for weekend to jump into xeno-hunting action. My previous experience with X-Com-like strategies are limited to the latest X-Com Enemy Within which I've completed on classic difficulty without much trouble, and wanted more of the same, preferably harder and with more nuances, but feeling that the very first one game in the series might be a bit too old(for the record,I do like old games, and my all time favourites are Heroes of Might & Magic 3,Space Hulk,Red Alert 2 and Nethack) I decided to try Xenonauts instead.
