  1. Some amazing Progress Drages! I've been away for a long time with RL issues. Sadly haven't been able to work on the Balance minimod or even my own mod. Hell I don't even have Xenonauts installed or anything anymore at the moment. (But this is all a story for another day) If you wish I could very happily write up some Lore segments for weapons and such if you wanted to give me a list and any possible basis for the way you want the lore to work for each entry and such. Although my English skills aren't the best. Someone could always go over what I write up and fix what I mess up if they so desire.
  2. I suppose its a rocky road and at this moment I've no real input to help you. Sorry. All I can imagine is making each one have a speciality. Accuracy or damage mitigation etc etc. I'll have a good ponder on it and see if I can think of anything.
  3. I think "isheavy" should be enforced to all snipers that aren't the first Tier Ballistics. Simply because although you cannot simulate things like scoping in on the target and breath control for the troops. "Isheavy" provides a decent fallback to it by enforcing a penalty when moved until the next turn. Which I suppose could substitute as a variant of breath control, and steadying your aim? Maybe that's just me. Ohh miniguns sound fun! I'd say with the limitations. As tech progress is reached the best way would be to keep the curve for the weapons slowly climbing but not to a degree where each tech feels like a massive jump except when you go from say Ballistic to Laser. In terms of things like Accuracy anyway. Damage and such when refering to laser weapons can be a wobbly one simply because of the way they work and such and trying to nail down a realistic form of them. Thus far X-Div gives a massive variety and with each iteration in a tech branch I feel it should be a step up, but I think going from one entire tech to another should give a large boost in comparison to going from tier to another. Or making it so that each sniper has one thing it's better at. Making say the AWP be a purpose built Anti Material rifle for heavy armor, and then have another rifle designed for the less armored and slightly more fragile enemy, which won't require as much strength and TU's to shoot etc. I'm just throwing random ideas around so I'm rambling quite a bit. Sorry.
  4. I mean illegal to charge for a modification. Because by law doesn't it fall under public domain so to speak once it's out in public for download and stuff. Said person doesn't own any rights nor property within a technical standpoint to any content, only holds rights to distribution but you aren't allowed to charge. Unless said person was a developer for the actual Xenonauts and was still within a position of employment within company that holds the rights to the game. But even then without consent in some form. It's still not legal. I dunno I'm rambling.
  5. I know. Ah I better hope I get some more time to work on the mod then. Thus far I just haven't had the time to work on any additions to the weapon balance etc and haven't even got any further in my own mod that I was working on. Although I got a few good concepts down and working minus a bug or two. But early days and what not as the saying goes.
  6. Wait. Someone wanted 300 dollars to make a Xenopedia page in the mod? That's not only crazy, but immoral and illegal right?
  7. I think snipers work as intended. Generally they are larger calibre and pack more power to take down a target and are designed to be accurate in semi auto. The way X-Div stands. I think the first Sniper you have should be set to rifle tier stats but only a little better in terms of say accuracy. The image shows the gun merely being a HK with a scope. As does vanilla, although the next tier of ballistics gives an AWP which is a purpose built rifle. Which should suffer the "isheavy" penalty but should pack a profound punch but cost a lot to fire it and hit hard. Finding a tactic that works and a position that allows the soldier wielding it to find good ground to provide long range firing support without hindering his own self. If that makes sense? I know this bit is gonna be rather off-topic or diverting. With the weapon rebalance I've done I set the first sniper in the Tier 1 ballistics to not be "Isheavy" but still have good range, due to optics and accurate simply because of the way you can line up targets etc. I think it works well plus it would pack a heavy hitting round, although not to the same degree that the AWP or similar would. That's just my thoughts. General suggestion so to speak.
  8. Well from what I remember reading you just need to put the 3D Model into your program of choice and then produce all the renders needed to be used as Xenopedia, Garage and GC sprites/entries etc. Of-course remember to have the Alpha Channel set so that you get only the model so it sits onto the game backgrounds cleanly.
  9. Heh. Not in a bad way ofcourse Drages. Once I'm able and unless anyone else compares the two. I'll check when I can but that will be another week or so away.
  10. The files are built straight from the HF4 files rather than a modmerge. X-Div itself contains a couple errors and missing info in terms of things like Entries etc. It's entirely possible that the issue is related to X-Div. If possible compare X-Div HF 4 Strings and my strings. If the error is persistent in both then the problem lies with the base files that this is mod from. If it isn't then I shall certainly delve into the file to fix any errors I've stupidly left in and failed to fix. Thus far however I've come across no issues in regards to it, or I may have entirely missed them. No-one else has reported anything either so I'm at a loss. If you do test mine and HF4 Strings.xml files against each other. Please let me know the results. I'm currently away from my rig and I'm unable to work with any of the files for awhile.
  11. It's great to hear that you are enjoying X-Division with my little balance minimod. And I'm especially happy to hear that my tweaks help you find the game and the mod itself more to your liking and enjoyment and allow you seat yourself into it a lot more. I agree X-Division is indeed a very tough mod and some aspects of it like the range that your were forced to deal with was a bit on the crazy side. It is true that tweaking numbers and varibles and having to test and retest isn't the greatest or the most fun. But it still gives a great sense of achievement knowing that I've personally played a part in helping to whatever slight degree making the game play out the way it does. And when someone such as yourself comes along and tells me that it actually improves upon the one small little problem they had with an other massive expansion to an already fantastic game. It makes all that time absolutely worth it. Thank you for taking the time to play with my minimod and for taking the time to post here. It's truly appreciated. If you have any feedback at all or ideas. I'd be absolutely happy to hear about them for future tweaks and updates.
  12. Well when the time comes and I have some spare time and you'd be happy for it I certainly wouldn't mind lending a hand to write up some Lore entries for you. Even if you want me to write up some of the incredibly smaller stuff and least common/least used stuff for the background things. My English is by also by no means perfect and my writing skills by no means awe inspiring and I'm sure if needs be your writers if they wish could ammend any small mistakes or could spruce up anything I made and would save them time also as they wouldn't need to write entire entries. Just an idea if the time ever comes.
  13. What specifically are you after in terms of lore. Like weapons, vehicles, armours, general lore etc?
  14. Yup the cannons are for the Defender onwards. You just seem to unlock them a lot earlier than the tanks themselves.
  15. I only use this. X:CE 0.33 RC1 Without Settings or Balance. You know now that I think about it. I can't believe I missed the part about it needing to be in a mod folder, it would make absolute sense that it does. I feel like an absolute idiot. Dear god... I'm gonna go bury my head in the sand for a day or two...
