  1. They are 2 completely different games. Its up to you what you like. I would suggest you get the alpha release from the steam group and warm yourself up with it until the Aircraft Expansion comes along, and some more bug fixes. You can play the 0.98 version too but its another game, period.
  2. As far as i know it is possible to add ANY music to ANYTHING, you just have to know your way around. For instance you are constantly swapping in and out of the geoscape so adding something there might not net the results you want, except starting the same score over and over again. On the other hand you can always add ambient music and let it run every 4 minutes (ground mission). This way every music score needs to be shorter then that and looping every 4 minutes.   3. I cant remember if putting fire out is even possible. What you mentioned on the other hand is very possible. HEY DRAGES. THEY WANT MORE WEAPONS. 177 HUMAN WEAPONS AND 107 ALIEN WEAPONS IS NOT ENOUGH. AND SOME MORE ALIENS TOO. AROUND 100 DIFFERENT ALIENS IS NOT ENOUGH. SO GET INTO GEAR AND DO IT !!! :D:D sry for spamming your thread.

  5. @ TacticalDragon I havent played much ground battle so go easy on us. Get it from the steamgroup, make sure to download the bug fixes. Test Version is available too. Quickbattle has ceased to exist, so just put the autoresolve values to 10000 and autoresolve, etc ... . I think you will find your way around. Edit: If you dont, read the things i want you to know in my signature. A lot is compiled there.

  9. i guess not But this no weapon bug is an old one. Solved over and over again. Search this thread for it. I cant actually remember what it was. Make sure you have a clean install + downloaded all the hotfixes and the fixed teh incendiary greande for XCE 0.34. Drages might know more about this .

  12. Wow, that post was so long ago, we are a bit further now. I want to strongly point out that 0.98 is not 0.99, for the better or the worse. They are 2 completely different mods. The AI was revamped in 0.99 behaving totally different now. Terror soldiers, now integrated more then ever, have their own AI. Going into a Terror site wont be the same as going on a crash site mission. The XNT AI gameplay felt wonderful integrated to me. Here take my loving TacticalDragon @trueman11 like TacticalDragon said, its not that easy and a simple change of values. But what i can think of off the hook is to decrease %TU costs, decrease weapon damage and increase weapon degradation by the same %. This would make an considerable impact without altering the game in any way. Maybe also decrease the reloading costs by the same %. So lets say we decrease everything by 25%. TU 40% > 30%, damage 80 > 60, armor degradation 16 > 20. But thats a lot of work with an neglectable impact. And it would mess up the whole armor degradation system.so the whole gameplay feeling is integrated into the game, spending 8 months on it doesnt sound unreasonable to me. I think we have to get the word out that 0.98 isnt the same as 0.99. Think of 0.98 as a mixup between the original XNT, a slower kabills UFO spawn and a lot of Drages Craziness in adding a lot of things. In 0.99 things are coming together smoothly, althought were are not quite there yet .

  15. Possiblities: 1. Verify Steam Integrity 2. Dunno about a non steam versions but they should have the strings.xml as a file, no ? Simply copy and paste ?
  16. Thats acutally a good point, we could improve the ground combat in that direction. Unfortuantely doing this would mean to rewrite every weapon mechanic from scratch and this is currently not on our list . Maybe later, but thats definitely a good point.

  18. So actually on,ontopic, about the teleport cost and telefragging, i guess not the same effort and feedback went into XCE that went into Long War. But for me it would be a shame to lose such an engaged player from xenonauts this is why i would ask you to try XDivision when its ready. I wrote something else in the post before but i found it "unpleasant to read". If you still want to read it i can send it per pm or post it here.
