  1. Honestly I get attached to my soldiers without any fancy features. Not that they would be a bad idea, but I wouldn't consider them necessary. I would become too attached in X-com with them. I've got good ol' Sgt. Virgil who is as reliable as can be and never seems to get hit. Named a soldier after someone who was watching me and just happened to become my best marksman and commander. I play games with a friend who is aggressive but fairly bad at shooters, so I found a rookie with high bravery and lowest accuracy and named him after my friend. Good times and wouldn't want any of them to die. Anyway, as long as I can name my soldiers and see a couple stats (missions, kills) then I will have no problem getting attached through their experiences. Though I would certainly welcome more features to connect me with my soldiers
  2. Hello everyone! I'm a college student for Game and Simulation Engineering. In my senior year and loving it so far. Just got back into X-com recently. Loved to watch my uncle play when it came out but it was too complicated for me at the time. The game has aged very well and is still fun to play. Heard about a game called Xenonauts, and after a quick look, decided it was certainly worth my money. Now here I am, ready to watch the development and be a part of the community.
  3. I actually first heard about Xenonauts from the Yogscast. He just finished Xcom a couple days ago, and while watching him stream a few days before that he mentioned that he may stream TFTD and Xenonauts after Xcom. I don't know if that was before or after you contacted them. I then watched TotalHalibut's video and immediately preordered. Point is, it would be great if they showed off the game, since after just mentioning it once they allowed me and others to discover it. More on topic, I'm all for some sort of funding meter. I'm still a poor college student and just preordering was a stretch but if I had extra cash I would gladly donate some of it to the development of Xenonauts. I agree with Bibidibop's comment on the intro movie that even if they are really cool I normally watch them once and skip them after that.
