  1. if you have a savegame upload it to your favourite fileshare site like dropbox or media fire and poist the link. DThe devs allways like to take a look if they can repeat the problem Are you playing on Steam? if so have you tried to verify your game integrety? (rightclick game in library, select properties, press the local file tabs and the bottom button)
  2. which version are you playing? have you verified your game cache? Can you upload the save file to the filehost of your choice and link it here?
  3. yeah a333 was a godsend for cingal. I've been following his threads both here and on Steam and he had a very tricky problem. glad a333 could solve it for him ^^
  4. suggestions are better suited in the suggestion forum than the bug forum.
  5. I'm sorry, but you keep saying that my options are increased, then you say that I can't do something and that my options are acctually limited... I'm confused, how am I given more freedom by preventing me from doing something? o.0 And here you are using the word force further implying that my freedom is restricted and my options limited. Do you have any other examples of games with this mecanic? Maybe some that has it from the start and not just as a mod? (Personally I can see this as being more interesting mechanic with different classes. With virtually identical interchangable soldiers as in X-com94 and Xenonauts it seems a lot less interesting) PS: I'm not trying to prevent you from getting the prepwork so that you can mod this. Initially I just wanted to express my opinion as I don't particularly find it to be interesting or fun mechanic. And right now I'm hung up on want you mean by "more options" as your concept seem to be limiting them by your own admission, and wish you would clarify that.
  6. I don't see how this gives you more options. To me it appears to give you less. It effectivly blocks out the small number of elite soldiers options, as you need to have enough soldiers to rotate out.Imo you could just as well roleplay this instead of being forced into it by a mechanic. Which games would that be? So I can read up on them I mean.
  7. Sounds like an awful idea for the sake of questionable ammounts of versimilitude. Why exactly would this be fun? as opposed to simply annoying for no real reason.
  8. You only got sprite sheets for idle? shouldn't there be for all animations? such as walking/moving, fireing, taking damage and dieing? Or did you only mention the idle one because that one was the only one that seemed important? (have you looked at functioning sprite sheets for other functioning units and compared? ) There should only be those 8 compass directions. There is no point to blank sheets so they are not included. if a sprite sheet is missing the file would be missing. Hopefully all this information will be helpful to Matthew when he comes around to look at this. ^^
  9. But the official site does not have a downlaod link for the game? You must have downloaded it from Desura if you don't have the Steam client. You should check out desura if it rings any bells. I think there is a direct link to desura downloads in some sticky somewhere on the forum that is only available if you are logged in to your desura account. (incase you are having problems finding where to download Xenonauts on the desura site) If that doesn't help I think you might be screwed if you deleted the email and don't have access to any way to download it. You can't get a refund since the email (and all proof of purchase?) is gone. To access the game you would/will have to buy it again... This time pay more attention to where you download the game from. (The more paranoid side of me thinks you might have copied it off a buddy during a LAN or possibly downlaoded it illegally somewhere, Are you absolutely sure you haven't done that? Your story sounds really weird imo...) PS: I'm not affiliated with Goldhawk in any way, do not hold them responsible for my baseless and paranoid accusations.
  10. You did not get either a desura or steam key? Check your email again. it might be in the spam folder so look there too. Where did you first download it? Or how did you get the game to your computer?
  11. ok can you open the Xenonauts folder on your computer and find the sprite sheets (or where they should be) for the light drone? It would be swell if you could tell which sprites are missing (if any) or if the game is trying to call upon the wrong sprites.
  12. It's a pretty safe bet that more savefiles will help so please do upload your savefile to a filehost and post the link
  13. 1) Open up your Steam client 2) rightclick the game in your library 3) select properties from the drop down list 4) click the "local files" tab 5) press the button at the bottom that is labled "verify integrety of game chache..."
  14. sounds like the sprite isnt loading for some reason. have you verified your game data? (if playing through steam)
  15. Where did you buy the game? on steam or desura? Have you tried deleting the game and redownloading it?
  16. Which version are you playing? (it should say which version on the launcher) There is no way to upload here (the forums attach file system is malfunctioning) so using mediafire was the right way to go
  17. I understand that you are frustrated but you might find people more enthustiastic to help you if you don't radiate as much negativity by being insulting and calling the game a turd. Just a thought which version are you playing btw? Did you buy it on steam, desura or through goldhawk? What is the specs of your iMac? etc The game isn't really optimised yet I think and it is definetly not optimised for Mac (although I think KO2fan is doing his best to help the mac versions out?) So you are going to have individual problems that most otther people dont have. Just look at "cingal" on this forum he had a peculiar casee where the game wouldnt launch for him and he tried everything that people could think of. nothing worked even though it should have. Then he tried a virtual machine and got it to work. Very peculiar case.
  18. maybe you set up the wine wrapper incorrctly? ( I'm just spurting words at you that I have heard other people use. I have no idea what a wrapper is seems to be some kind of shell program to let you play the game or something) Send a message to KO2fan. he is the resident Mac specialist and can probably help you with most things. PS which version are you using?
  19. the whole "to spend more to improve" sounds weird to me. Maybe change one of the "to" to "will"? or something.
  20. is it any particular race or is it every alien?
  21. Have they changed that? I thought the option needed to be enabled/checked to disable the stat tracking?
  22. the save games are not compatible with new versions of the .exe. so no there is nothing you can do to access them if you update to a new version. the savegames should still be there even if they arent visible. (this will allow you to play if you can figure out how to download an old version. i think chris has mentioned legacy builds or something but that is probably only relevant to stabe branch?) you could try to turn off the steam auto update for xenonauts.
  23. Do you have a savegame with this happening? if you can upload it to your favourite filestorage site like dropbox or media fire Matthew could take a look at it. (remember to mention which unit is having this problem) PS: which version of the game are you playing? Could you add that bit of information to the topic the next time you report a bug? please and thank you
