  1. Whenever I load a ground combat mission, the game loads just fine for the first few moments (screen with loading bar). Then I see the dropship and every soldier on the ramp is facing towards the innards of the chopper. Then the screen shifts, showing nothing but fog of war. The pop-up screen shows (if you have pop-ups enabled that is) and you can click it away safely. The screen is focused on the fog of war (all blackness) instead of the dropship, but you can scroll the screen back manually or by selecting one of the soldiers using the UI. Not a terrible bug at all, the game works. It's just a tad confusing. Tested this on 1.01 and 1.02 experimental. Tried both pop-ups on and off, different difficulty levels (just to be sure). Screenshots didn't work out, because it doesn't show the "reversed facing of the soldiers" and a picture of the fog of war is not really special. TLDR: It seems like the camera doesn't center on the dropship when the mission is loaded. Minor niggle, just pointing it out for completeness' sake.
  2. If you need another recruit, Dohon's your man! German soldier, male and a big fan of the big guns. Machineguns all the way. Who needs accuracy when you can just shoot MOAR BULLETS?
  3. Just want to pop in and congratulate Goldhawk on the release. You have all put your heart and soul in this game and I am super psyched to play your "lovechild". Thank you for your efforts and the countless sleepless nights!
  4. I loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Absolutely loved it! Did I say I loved it? LOVED IT!
  5. Xenonauts: And they shall know fear or Xenonauts: They shall know fear or even Xenonauts: You shall know fear Just throwing these out there.
  6. I always change the names of my troops. And yes, that includes a virtual avatar of myself. Problem is, I always tend to bite the bullet in the first mission. I think XCOM is trying to tell me something. I haven't renamed them yet in Xenonauts. Once the full beta rolls on, I'll do it though. Let's see if my dying streak lasts.
  7. If it is any help to the Xenonauts team ... I'm looking forward to Xenonauts, not to the new XCOM. While I'm a diehard fan of XCOM and I would kill and pillage to get more of it in my grubby paws, I remain highly sceptical. As Moonshine Fox said, remakes oftend tend to re-imagine time-proven mechanics just so that it is all new and sparkly. Firaxis might be able to pull it off, but I know for sure that Xenonauts has already done it. This is a true successor to XCOM and I'm glad I paid in order to help it come to its full potential. I have been spreading the word of the game and seeing this new ... 'threat', I'll continue to do so. XCOM might prove to be a real gem. Let's hope so. But Xenonauts is already a gem in my book.
  8. Merry Christmas to you all! I've been around since the old forums, but haven't posted that much. Real life tends to hammer me with work and I can't follow all the threads, despite me wanting the opposite. But beggars can't be choosers. I decided to pipe up again since I finally got the game pre-ordered. Probably won't be able to actually play the game till February or so, but at least it is sitting pretty on my drive. Looking forward to reading, playing and having fun while doing it all!
