  1. Very limited game engine. But imagine modding in a RC toy car or UV drone. Soldier sits back, car goes zoom and BOOM. Sticking C4 on those toys muahhahha /thinks back to his days in the sand and some of the crazy shit we did in the real world to get a mission complete
  2. Well I just finished the game using the hellgate mod. TONS of fun. Learning curve all the way. Biggest boo to me was the final mission. Soon as all my guys beamed out CRASH. EVERY. SINGLE. ATTEMPT. I know there is no end movie but still..... Must remember that dissasembling and salvaging are the key for serious cash. Might have to make a 4th base just with stores n hangers Kudos again to all who made this mod! main 5.sav main 5.sav
  3. Use rocket launchers (sulfur) and stagger grenades. If you use armor it can not hurt tanks so you can sometimes pin it.
  4. Also possible bug if not already noted. When you are able to research the hellfire sub-machine gun that is meant to be sold instead it is set for infinite amount. The hellfire assault rifle is limited and can be sold. So when the chief scientist tells you to start selling the sub-machine guns should he instead be referring to the assault rifle?
  5. Juvilado. I too have noticed this. I know Skitsos was showing off some really cool looking new maps but after many ground ops I have yet to see one. I installed the maps into the main asset folder as per instructions but I wonder now if the game engine using the XNT mod and fire in the hole is overriding somehow? Kabill I know you are super busy but is it possible that somehow the game engine pulls a map for a downed UFO but then has to use a specific map to ensure all the mods work?
  6. I am in Dec and again having a blast with this mod. I love stunning the crap out of everything that I can. Even manged to dog pile a delta viper (the big purple ones) and laughed as we clubbed it down. Nearly Dec, 3 solid bases. I only have 2 charlies but shrikes are in production. I need to expand to 3 drop teams Using mostly the hellgate weapons but have 60 scientists researching like hamsters on speed. Everything I shoot down I try to ground combat. Got nearly 2 million in the bank but just expanded my 2 second bases with more engineers as wolf armor is about ready to pop. Awesome mod
  7. hmm white explosion shockwave? breaching charge or c4 (or better) explosion? either way if you gotta go, take some to hell with you andron hell- their operating system is windows ME, they are rebuilt by IKEA, and they run on peat
  8. Afternoon all. I am not trying to steal blackwolf's thunder but I just reinstalled hellsgate onto a new SSD game drive and got a crash to desktop. Others using windows 7 have seen this and now I have. I have discovered this that like most zips it contains a series of sub folders. IF you are seeing a crash to desktop when using the new exe file included here is what you need to do and check. 1) Install xenonauts and the 1.09 patch into what ever game drive you use. 2) Unzip hellgate into a temp folder. You should get a head folder called XNT V6.0 (HellGate). One sub folder down is assets followed by sub folder mods. There is NOTHING in assets but alot in the sub folder mods. 3) Copy just the sub folder assets (and thereby all the sub folders within) from the temp hellgate folder into the main directory of xenonauts. What this WILL do is copy the sub folder within the hellgate assets into the xenonauts assets and also correctly place all the sub folders into their correct place within the xenonauts mods folder. 4) You should have now within the xenonauts game folder mods the following multiple sub folders: XCE, XCESETTINGS, XNT 6.0 HELLGATE. 5) Transfer the xenonauts 2 exe files into the master folder of the xenonaut game folder overwriting the 2. 6) Launch your game and go to the mods tab and choose the XNT 6.0 option. Start a game and it should launch showing a backdrop of 3 blue androns about to see a downed soldier with grenade going out in style. You can now go and get the Kabill and Skitsos's awesome map packs. These need to be installed into the main folder sub folders. Not required but these maps REALLY kick some butt. There is also fire in the hole mod. I am going to defer to Kabill and others on how this needs to be installed with XNT. In conclusion I am NOT a modder for this mod. TD and many others made this happen. It REALLY adds to the immersion and play value for xenonauts. It WILL make the game harder. You will need to really work to win. Try it, you will enjoy. Cheers!
  9. Drages I saw this in my last firebat game. I made it to MAG weapons using jackal armor lol. I even kept on but the lure of hellgate pulled me in so I abandoned that firebat game and moved on. However I was working on capturing a leader. Have you captured one yet? If not then perhaps getting the officer and leader will become a priority for me
  10. Claesp not to sound like an ass but do not play ironman. The game engine has more bugs than the Chinese have rice. Its amazing what Chris and the devs managed to create with it and the Modders continue this tradition. I too enjoy iron man games. I can handle the RNG screwing me over or my own stupidity causing me to howl. But having the engine itself wreck my game NO, just no. Save often and use your own iron will power to only reload when a crash happens. Not when your favorite trooper with sentinel armor gets eaten >.>

  14. If Chris and the team do TFTD they will probably get a MUCH better game engine
  15. Kabill I believe MK is correct. There was a viper and a spike thrower in the small ship. The spiker thrower was blocking the viper from getting out to attack. If I try to rush in and shoot the spike thrower it locks up. Or it will lock if you try to get near the door hence the "reaction shot error". I stayed back from range and just managed to snipe kill the spike thrower. This freed the viper who I was lucky enough to unload on with the entire team.
  16. Kabill, XNT team Getting a strange lock up bug when trying to enter a small UFO to finish the mission. Game will will lock forcing me to task manager close the game. I installed a new copy of xenonauts and patched. I then installed the latest xce and xce settings. Moved the exe out to the main so it could be used as the launcher. Installed firebat. Installed the map packs Installed fire in the hole CE edition as per instructions maps and tiles only. Other than this lock up everything was working fine. Not sure why its doing this but if it helps improve the mods ground 6.sav ground 6.sav
  17. Awesome mod Kabill. Can be tricky to find the right breach point some times but it sure beats "slamming the wall" approach of rushing the front door
  18. To everyone many thanks for these mods. I salute everyone with the time and skill to make a great game even more awesome. From the guys at XNT and to Kabill to Slayer and others thanks. And to Chris and the rest of devs for making the game. Fireaxis has a great team but the remake just did not have the spirit that THIS game has. Here is to peace and hoping everyone works things out.

  20. Piracy makes me sad. This game is only 25 bucks and its a fracking gem. I have seen 70 dollar games that where just pure kaka. There are some awesome mods and modders making it even more so. Unlikely any pirates are reading this but if you seriously go to gog games and buy it. If you kill the awesome indy companies people like Chris and his team will be gone. Then you get EA and all the drek they push.
  21. So finally have played a game all the way to January. Lots and Lots of learning curves. Perhaps I am behind on the tech curve as I am stilling using multi-ammo weapons and the aliens I am encountering now are seriously nasty. Shot down my first carrier (2 su10's and a f-14). Got it to chase the 14 and the 10's managed to get behind and gun it after the missile barrage. Sent in a shrike with my 10 best troops. Fish Heads excuse me Wraiths and Ceasans are just lined up waiting. Most of my shots where resisted and then they just unloaded with plasma blasts. Ouch I suspect I should have laser weapons by now lol and better armor than just jackal. Hired 20 more scientists for a total of 60 working on 3 projects. My pack of 75 engineers are busy flooding the world with RPG's to generate some much needed cash. For now I am going to clear the skies and airstrike the crash sites till I get much needed better weapons and armor Still a great mod pack
