  1. i backed this game with soldier roster edition. the only thing i am complaining about is - Julian/ the team is releasing too much spoilers. i understand the developer need to update the backers about progress and cool stuff they're making, at the same time attracts more customer. still, i am very reluctant to read, to see, so many advance item even before installing the demo. what is the fun of reading the whole UFOpedia first? if you got what i mean. hahaha.
  2. i am still on and off checking UFO2's homepage for development and release progress. dragging so many years. what are they trying to achieve.
  3. i always do carpet searching for each and every alien out there before narrowing to the ship. hey, i found that the air-con compressor on the root top does not provide cover, rifle beams goes straight through and hitting my soldier, whereas the protruding air ventilation ducts does provide solid cover, mean it will block rifle beams. a bug.
  4. in those years of after completing UFO EU and TFTD, i always fantasize about hows the world (our earth) going to be. with hell load of laser rifles gets manufactured and sold in the market (to make income during UFO EU time), certain factions in the world (definitely not the current one you think about!) could start a rebellion using these laser rifles as well as other advance equipments, plus, some of the veteran XCOM Colonels, TFTD Captains might go rogue under some hidden agenda ... and the story starts from here. (at the end, those rogue Colonels and Captains were actually trying to save the world from a greater alien menace!) Chris, look! lobsters are getting out of control!!!
  5. xenonauts is the ONLY game that i will squeeze every available hour to play while busy on baby sitting. regretably not the xeno-TFTD-DLC thingy was announced ... well, life goes on, hopes the new project will be my cup of tea.

  9. hi guys, i wonder if the research/autopsy of the alien corpses has been defaulted to automatic in the game? because i don't need to allocate scientist and there is no research item of alien corpses to start, but autopsy results were pop up for xenopedia.

  11. normally what would be the AI behaviour? would the alien actively seek and destroy? or passively diggin? or mix of both?
  12. well, then i think i have to double the heavy weaponry to flush those aliens out. when i am low in man, definitely couldn't afford to use normal tactics anymore. frankly, these are my assumptions, because i have not tryout any land battle since v17 (because i don't want see all the spoilers, LOL).
  13. well henri5, your assumptions are valid if all the players are playing the same way. but in reality, we don't. some will utilise the "Golden Rule of Gaming" a.k.a "Save & Load". for me, i will change the tactics. if i got low on soldiers, then i might take more turns to finish a mission by simply digging in cover/ camping, to form a killzone with high explosive, splash damage weaponry to overcome the odds. or i don't even care to start the ground battle and leave the crashed UFO as it is.
  14. sometimes i think by open up the forum and accepting virtually limitless of recommendations, could somehow lead to such open-ended project. job schedule could easily stray from original course by accepting new elements. not to say getting inputs from the public are no good, but one should apply control over it and knowing where to cutoff. while waiting xenonauts, i am playing UFO: Alien Invasion. although the GUI looks like Fisher Price, certain 3D stuff like geoscapes, models, are not bad at all.
  15. random map was possible in 1994 with less than 20megs of installation files, what makes Xenonauts of today cannot with gigs of files? we are talking of 4.7gigs of files!!! this project is sooooooo testing the costomer's pennies and patience, first got open-ended project dateline, now dumb down with hardcoded maps. brilliant.
  16. jeeez.... crimson red manchester united jersey matched with dark grey pants. were the artist ever referring to the colour wheel chart before applying that?
  17. i support the developer to tune the game balance, but please don't scripting and dumb down the AI as in XCOM EU.
  18. as in normal difficulty? sounds like our soldiers really get pinned down.
  19. serious?!?! perhaps need to encounter the alien race of later stage...
  20. hey, thats not bad at all!!! this is more realistic that alien will also know some way to flush the soldier out (or forcing our Rambos to take cover). random chance of alien using grenades(to flush), say 3% possibility, will be awesome too.
