Will there be a "select next soldier" button?
aplomado replied to aplomado's topic in Xenonauts-2 General Discussion
Nope, will that do it? Good to know! -
Missile base layout and architecture
aplomado replied to Dritz's topic in Xenonauts-2 General Discussion
Possibly, the command center is retro-fitted to an Atlas base, and thus they just stuck it on the top. Not all the Atlas sites looked the same. This command center is just barely under the surface: -
The reaper swarm at the end killed two of mine, but the rest managed to escape to the transporter! I thought the ending level was pretty cool, and well done.

There is a demo you can download to check and see if it will run (think it is on the kickstarter page). It is cruder than the final game, just so you know. That is what I did. If you like the original x-com, you should really enjoy Xenonauts.

I couldn't run the Firaxis X-Com on my computer... the fact that Xenonauts is not as demanding on the hardware side is great for me.

I think soliders are paid $10,000 a month- that could be expensive.

When setting up troops for reaction fire, I often have a kneeling soldier, with a solider right behind him, also waiting. If the rear solider is kneeling also, will he shoot the man in front when taking a reaction fire? Is it safer to have the rear solider standing? Thanks

I like the cold war setting also.

Khall- I was going to install your pictures but... do I follow the directions you posted exactly? My game has a separte male and female portrait folders.

So, if I have a base with no soldiers, can it be defended with the base defense batteries adequately (plasma ones)? How many ones would be needed to prevent the aliens from taking it?
-
You apparentlly have to reasearch a lot of alien plasma weapons before you can build your own versions. I'm not quite there yet either.

Cheer! Great job developers! I've been waiting for years for a worth sucessor for x-com, and you all made it!

Integrate Kabills and Skitsos map packs with the game.
aplomado replied to silencer's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
The vanilla version defintely could use some more maps. I've installed Skitskos recently. I think that is only upgrade (other than any bug fixes) the game really needs. Maybe some other mapmakers will make ones worthy of being added. -
Would that cause an issue with aliens destroying things in your base?

[V1.09]Skitso's Ultimate Megamix Map Pack 2000
aplomado replied to Skitso's topic in Completed Map Packs
Thanks Skitso! I've only played about a dozen games with the vanilla game, and was shocked to see the maps already starting to repeat. This is very needed. -
The spinning globe in the original was cool, but I think the flate map is an improvement, as it is much easier to get a big picture view of what is happening.

I'm really enjoying Xenonauts, it is "sequel" to x-com I have wanted ever since playing the first! Good job!

Installed with Steam- Where are my game files hidden????
aplomado replied to aplomado's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Thanks, I found it! Steam stinks! -
Personally, I just started playing and I think the game is fantastic! It is an improvement in almost every way from X-com.
