MortuusSum
Nothing mechanical to discuss here. I just wanted to note that I was amused by the changes in appearance your advisers undergo, or more specifically the ones they don't. Chief Engineer gets a cool new face mask, Lead Scientist has a cool arm computer and a deelie on his glasses, Head Soldier gets a fancy new robo-arm, and the Quartermaster gets NOTHING. He's still just sitting there, with his cigarette and his boring beige computer monitor, entirely content with his role in the universe. I don't think he even has a computer, just a monitor so it seems like he's working. Nothing fazes the Quartermaster; he doesn't need fancy alien tech to tell you that the host country supplies you with food, fuel and munitions for free. And THAT, he'll tell you, is why humanity will beat the invaders- not because we're smarter, or stronger, or braver, but because we're more apathetic. We'll sit around, not caring about anything, and eventually the aliens will get so bored that they'll leave, taking nothing but a lingering feeling of disappointment that will haunt them to their graves. ViewThePhenom
Not sure how far in you are, but wait until you secure an alien base and research the base upgrade. You should be happy after that.
Gauddlike
Although the quartermaster himself is unchanged by his brush with new tech.
silencer
He is so lonely, that he should say: "Ah, a visitor - welcome" instead of - "Here are stuff for sale".
thixotrop
The game would be very differnt if it was such realistic bureaucracy. Imagine the sequel will be after the alien invasion is successful: "Bureaucrazynauts" You have to drag down the aliens by doing paper work in such a manner that your alien supervisor becomes more and more unnerved: Get threefold subsciptions, missing folders, search for cross references, over-hours discussion, stretched coffee breaks and the constant demand for more trainees to help you and in general nothing gets done properly... That is revenge human psi powers here! Not strong and fit soldiers, not fancy technology or powerful weapons will drive the aliens away. No at all; tedious boring paper work will do the job. *cough-hope-that-wil-not-be-the-next-game-cough*
silencer
Dear aliens if you want to invade Earth, please fill out the form 38B and 42A.
thixotrop
Please note that the invasion can start only after reception and agreement of your completely filled forms. We will answer your request within the next six weeks. Please don't call us, we will certainly call you. Thank you for your patience. Very frightfull to imagine that there would be some prepared forms for invasion. dpelectric
You could just sic my ex-wife and her team of bloodthirsty lawyers on them. I'd like to see the aliens handle THAT
Skybirduk
They will probably mistake the lawyers for Sebellians or reapers...
ViewThePhenom
I thought the Quarter Master started using a tablet after base upgrade?
MortuusSum
I thought the Quarter Master started using a tablet after base upgrade? WHAT I haven't gotten that tech yet. I guess my whole joke just falls right apart.
Gauddlike
He is given the new tech but it doesn't change him. All of the others update their uniform at least and move with the times. The quartermaster doesn't even bother asking for an ashtray.
