[Steam - Alien Base] - crash after deployment phase.

Hi,

I have tried going to a few different bases and every time I 'end turn' in the deployment phase, the game freezes. Have tried several times in several different bases.

There are now about 8 alien bases on my map and I have lost funding from all but 3 of the supporters. Have had to resort to the weapon selling glitch to keep myself going.

I assume the number of ufos about is affected by the number of alien bases too as there are swarms of them.

I don't remember a bug report like this, and I can't reproduce this issue. You had a lot of bugs around terror sites, you should try validating your files on steam, or uninstall the game from steam then re-install it some files might got corrupted during downloading it.

If the problem still exists please attach a save file.

Are you trying with Large bases? It might be something to do with Praetors.

I dont know if the base is big or not. I have tried with a few that have just appeared.

Only had the steam version a few days but will try and follow your suggestions. I did try a base quite early on and it worked (got my arse kicked though).

I have to attach my savefile for some other issues I have mentioned anyway. Maybe you can test?

Use a file-sharing site (I use dropbox).

One thing you could try, if you don't mind some messing about with files. Go into weapons_gc.xml (with notepad or something), bottom of the alien weapon section and cut and paste the 'alienpraetorgun' section to just under the entry for the Plasma Cannon (leave an empty line though). Then try a base.

I had the same problem with large bases, you see it in loading screen, i.e. large seblian base etc. I managed to load one eventually by just loading a save just before sending my Charlie there, since the alien base is randomly spawned you could try different species, and posible different AI units.

there is a strange bug relating to the mouse being over a blacked out spot on the map before clicking end turn that mightr cause it too, that helped me out

Savefile covers all of the issues I have mentioned recently including the hiring old soldiers who are wounded and never heal, this base issue and the issue when my base gets attacked and my defences successfully defend it.

Matthew/Sathra - Did you find anything with my savefile? I haven't played the game since then... hoping it was helpful for the stable build 19 (whenever that will be).
