Velihopea
I'm a bit confused about pre-order keys. On the Xenonauts web pages it reads: "STANDARD PACKAGE: - Access to play the latest development build right now! - A Steam or Desura key for the final game on release day!" If I pre-order now, will I get desura key now to play the alpha AND a free steam key when Xenonauts is released? Or what does the OR mean in this context?? Gorlom
I'm guessing that the preorder Desura key won't be valid for the final game and you have to recieve a new key if you want it on Desura. So yes, if you preorder now you get a desura key for the alpha and can chose to get a steam or desura key for the retail version.
Chris
In all likelihood you'll get both keys on release, but at worst you'll get to choose which.

Thomas
I jut hope they have the standalone versions available too with final release for us modders to play with without hassle. I'm not a Desura or Steam fan. --Yes, I realize Desura hosts the standalone too, but I don't need there client running to get it. I won't even speak of Steam as it is more of a virus than a distribution platform. If you can't tell I have had a bad experience with steam. It likes to destroy your mods by constantly validating and updating your files even the ones you've spent tremendous amounts of time and energy to add in the first place. There's my $.02 on final distribution. ) Edited February 15, 2013 by Thomas
Max_Caine
Standalones are quite common on Desura. If you spend any time on the Desura forums, the first response technical support staff have at Desura when the client goes do-lally is "d/l the standalone". EDIT: The problem with that, of course, is that the standalone could be a bulkier, unarchived version (like the Xenonauts standalone is). Peeps with capped bandwiths have gotten quite stroppy at that solution.
