[17,5] CTD when exiting ground combat mission.

After a succefull mission on insane, the world map was black (chinook gliding over black, base location and radar shown). Once Chinook entered inside base i pressed the "base" button and game CTDed.

Same. The first time I completed a mission and exited soldier development, the game returned to the geoscape, was unresponsive, and then CTD'd.

At least it didn't freeze my laptop so I could run it again. And I got the cool geoscape target mouse for a while.

Ok this is happening in all my games 17.5 or latter (17.5.1) so i cannot play.

After finishing mission 2, Farm Map, the world map was black; Base location and radar range shown. Chinook and fighters not show, only radar range of fighters. After Chinook and fighters had returned to base, I got COD. Note: This is in version 17.51

Finished mission 2, farm map. The geoscape screen came up with all the various icons like radar range, the mouse cursor and my Chinook, but not the world map. The screen said "Loading Geoscape..." in the middle. Time was still ticking away and I could change speed, but the icon of my Chinook was not moving. After waiting for maybe three minutes for something to happen, I clicked on the Bases tab, which caused it to crash to desktop. 17.51

same here. Nice campaign, until the aliens stole the Earth .

I found a temporary solution.

After the game crashes, restart the game and then load your most recent auto-save.

The game auto-saves right after ground combat, so if you re-load the most recent auto-save it fixes the problem.
