While it may be accurate it would be confusing and a lot harder to code. Do you really want the developers to struggle with that when the current representation is acceptable, instead of doing cool stuff you will likely enjoy more?

It's not matter what he realy want because it's will not change anyway.

We made a decision not to do this early in development because while more accurate, it isn't actually more intuitive to the player. I stand by that decision, but even if I changed my mind it's now far too late to change it!

Someone put together a few mock ups of how it would really look with distorted radar coverage shapes to mimic real world ranges and to be honest it looked crap :P

More realistic maybe, hard to look at and make sense of when playing though.

Keeping the maps consistent means when you look at the distance between your craft and the enemy it doesn't matter where they are, you can always make a pretty good assumption of their chance to engage.

If the range is different, even though it looks the same on the screen, then you remove that consistency.
