Are you talking about the zip file? The client version should be available.

The zip file will be available when Desura finishes validating it, so it's out of Chris hands.

Is anybody else having real problems with Desura? I can't get the download to complete successfully, and I've tried about 4 times now.

Desura has been rubbish for a couple of weeks downloading any game.

only problem I've had with the desura client is that is seems to take a very long time to "verify" the files... then does a fairly speedy update. I've been toying with the idea that maybe just deleting and doing a completely fresh download would be quicker so long as it avoids a verification step lol

I think Desura should accelerate its own procedures .. Steam is much faster.

The beta 13.... I would like to try ... but until they do not move ....

Having the game on an SSD if you have one helps quite a lot with the update speed. But you're still kind of stuck if you catch it at a time when the servers are busy and it spams MCF errors at you.

Still no stand alone installera for V13? This is pretty bad if you ask me, I don't want another client on my system but this is starting to get ridiculous...

We are stuck with Desura until such time as a) an organisation which fully supports alpha-funding and does not get nixed by PayPal and other online payment systems when said payment systems don't support the preorder mechanism for small independant developers (preferring to believe instead said independants are processing the proceeds of crime) exists, and b) Goldhawk can back out of the agreements they made with Desura.

Your thoughts on a) are welcome.

Yep, they used to be faster (1 day and a half or so) but for the last 2 builds they take 2-4 days to up the manual download.

Got the update to work on the 4th try!

Is it so hard to upload a standalone version???

I'm gonna uninstall Desura from my PC and keep only Steam.

I got it on the fifth attempt, using the bottom option of the three on Desura.

Hicks I would assume that Chris already uploaded the zip file but that it is Desura that is slowing things down?

Yeah, getting close to 4 days now, a new record for them, might have to wait until monday or longer.

Can't Chris just upload the game to a server were we can download it? Put a password on the zipfile and send to those who have preordered.

I just downloaded and installed V13 from Desura. But the download was very very very slow and cancelled about 20 times. But now it is installed and i can play V13.
