[v12.1] Friendly soldier keeps shooting until he kills all aliens he can see

I just hit a strange issue. During AI processing a friendly soldier got stuck in attack mode. He kept shooting for about 5 minutes, killing all the aliens he could see - he got 3. He missed a lot, and must have fired hundreds of shots. During that time you could do nothing - just wait for him to kill all the aliens.

This seems like a new bug - I haven't seen it on the bug thread.

huh, can't find it either, but it's a known one... Chris mentioned it at Rezzed.

ah, does he stop shooting in the end? I just came out of the game.

Nope, it's usually after the first couple of turns. He keeps shooting until all the aliens he can see are dead - the ground around him looks like the surface of the moon. After he kills all the aliens around him the game resumes as normal.
