Chris Posted April 29, 2012 Share Posted April 29, 2012 I'm currently uploading Build V9.5.1 to Desura now. This contains only bugfixes. - Various mis-set tiles have been updated - The manufacturing projects should now be set up so they are categorised correctly and no longer all have the laser pistol image - The Alenium grenade should now be equippable and should display its name correctly in the manufacturing - Bombers and Heavy Fighters now have weapons, so should actually fight you. Try to avoid letting the bomber hit your aircraft with its main cannon (there won't be much left afterwards)! - The Light Drone in the terror missions now explodes properly rather than turning into a Caesan. It looks pretty cool actually, I'm quite pleased with it. Still need to add an injury animation for it though. - Ferret should be a bit more resistant to ballistic weapons. - Frag rockets and Alenium grenades should now use nice explosion graphics rather than the old placeholders. Hopefully the Corvettes will also spawn with crews when attacked now, but I'm not sure. I'm having difficulty testing it in the dev build due to the way the AI works. If anyone reaches the Corvettes, please let me know either way. Please give it a play. It'll be going out to the press tomorrow if there's no frequent crashes in it. At night the visual range of the hunter is now the adjacent tiles, it's not clearing the previously large parts of darkness/fog of war that it did. The non-combatant corpse autopsy report is cut short by window size and you can't seem to scroll down to read the rest. Other reports might have this issue but I didnt get a chance to see them all. 2. Aliens and civilians just love to spin around and do nothing. Are the reproducable steps? Ultima - yup, both those things were in the previous version and will be addressed in due course but probably not before the press build goes out. You've seen what I've posted in the bug report thread, but as for reproducable steps, all I can say is that my hunters were using MG's and are the first unit I touch. Chris Posted April 29, 2012 Author Share Posted April 29, 2012 The reason it has "demo" plastered all over it is because this version will shortly be made available to the public, so we're just testing that. I've made a few more fixes too, and I'll have the programmer look at the hidden movement hang and the Hunter sight range issue. After that I think the build is ready to go. flashman Posted April 30, 2012 Share Posted April 30, 2012 met my first corvette and it owned me, took 2 waves of fighters 2 kill it and its escort. However, it finally crashed.. so I sent a chinook... the crashed corvette then took off again with the crashed icon still present and blew up my chinook. So i had 2 shoot it down a 2nd time. If I try, the game crashes. 2) The auto hiding/showing of houses or UFOSs when walking a unit around works not well. Many times the house/craft prevents me from seeing my soldiers/tanks or aliens. 3) The mission mouse pointer is round when selectiong soldiers. It is really confusing where the pointer is sometimes. I think the original prism (dictionary... sorry for my English, I mean the square pro the original X-COM game) was much much better 4) The square pointer on the geoscape is really badly visible. I would suggest a standar pionter. 5) Im playing in resolution 2560/1440 (27" monitor). I have trouble reading some text (too small) and one thing bothers me during the start. (see picture) 6) there are off ocourse other bugs but I think that are just not finished pieces yet so i won't write them down. Let the development continues smoothly. Landed craft can - but if they're showing the crash site icon (black with a white skull) rather than the green landed icon, they shouldn't take off. That's a bug and you should report it. That way new player will not be as troubled by a mechanic that isn't currently working as intended. (and the demo will look less flawed) I think this will help with beeing able to spot aliens as it seems some players doesn't spot or understand the button. You would only have the single slot for a two handed weapon or double slot for smaller ones. Removes the two weapons being shown in the equip and inventory screens.
