Nuttss Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 My first 9 detections resulted in combat over water. What do you guys think of an option to engage over land, or some sort of notice if you are over land or not... it isn't always obvious. Quote
anotherdevil Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 you can always choose to tail the enemy UFO, rather than engage them Quote
Chris Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Tailing doesn't actually work at the moment. The plane just hovers in the same spot if you tell it to tail. We should sort that... Quote
Uxion Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Ah that is why my entire air force stood around like idiots until they went home for refueling Quote
Nuttss Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 It isn't just tailing... I frequently had combat on the coast, but I couldn't tell if it was actually over water or over land. Therefore I don't know if I'll have the option to do a recovery mission. Quote
Sunblinder Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Yeah - I really like the idea of having different options - engage at all costs, engage over land. Not sure if this is already in there (just learning) but being able to choose whether your interceptors try to reach the UFO as fast as possible or try to group together even if they have different speeds. anotherdevil Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 well if they're not together they wont be in the same air combat... Quote
Gauddlike Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 If you aren't sure then you could zoom in? No idea how accurately the game judges the combat if you are very borderline though. If you don't send your craft out at the same time in the same squadron then they won't all engage. Quote
81dB Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Will time controls be added to air combat? Retreating takes forever. Quote
Sathra Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Huh...I have no idea. It was brought up, so maybe? At the very least, I can't remember any counter-arguments about it. Quote
Chris Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Tail until over land is a good idea for a command. I'll add that to the list of polishing features. Quote
