PsionicPowers range

I have set all ranges in psionicpowers_gc to 3 but i still get hit from way across the map, how is this so, what am i doing wrong.

The range variable does not stop powers being used above that range; it just applies a penalty to the check. I.e. for every tile beyond the power's range it is used, a -1 modifier is applied to the psionic roll.

I dont understand kabill. Is there way to decrease the range of psionic attacks.

No. All psionic attacks, like all weapons, have infinite range. All you can do is set the effective range for a psionic attack. (See kabill's post for what happens when the attack is beyond its effective range).

To a degree it is always random since the psionic power is always a dice roll.

But if u dont like getting hit at the starting position set the strenghtmodifier to =0.1.

So if the felt EFFECTIVE RANGE was, lets say, 20 tiles its now 2 tiles.

If that is still too close for u because u are still getting hit at a range u dont want to get hit set it to 0.01.

Or whatever value u feel u get your reasonable amount of successfull psionic attacks.
