itscience
Hiya. Just bought the game for my Linux system. I found this guide that I tried and the X:CE mod installs fine. However, the files it installs are .exe and I don't see how I am suppose to naively run on my system. Steam even give the option to install the X:CE via the beta option when you right click and select properties. Neither of them work :-( Is there any support for Linux in this way or am I missing a step? Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to some replies :-)
llunak
- Install Wine if you don't have it already. X:CE works fine here on openSUSE 13.1 x86_64 with Wine 1.7.22, newer version should presumably work just as well. - Run the game .exe using Wine ('wine Xenonauts.exe' from a terminal, double-click on the icon in a file manager, right-click on the icon and 'run with...' or whichever way works on your system). Only the Windows version of X:CE is updated on Steam, so for other OS it is necessary to use either that version, or use manual X:CE install (as described in its release announcements).
