I've taken a quick look at it so far....it seems like the game isn't even using the vehicle_spectre.xml in units\xenovehicles\VEHICLE.HUNTER\VV.MACHINEGUN. I tried replacing the file with one from another vehicle which should have changed the graphic to the new vehicle but it remained the same. Deleting the file altogether does nothing as well.

So yeah, my initial thought is it has something to do with the game not using that file and nothing to do with the actual file itself. Unless it's named wrong?

You got probably a modmerging error. Try to work on totally new vehicle like on seeker rather then hunter. Game uses that spectre but because we dont use a modmerging command, it just do not work when edited.

I can create the file in the original xenonaut and it works fine...k, going to see if I can add animations now.

k so I replaced the file with soldier info. Everything animates properly except the attack animation but I know it works because I have another soldier right beside it using the same config file and the attack animation works.

Is it possible vehicles are hard coded to not have an attack animation?

Yeah I kinda meant not have any code at all for it. I think the XCE guys have access to the source code? Might want to ask them about it.

Ilunak got many things to handle. Even animations are working i am not sure the melee weapon will work on drone type 3x3 aliens. So i go for mechs for now..

This game is unfriendly to mod or it was until X:CE and Drages proves that it can be modded in such ways we never tried (X-Division is fairly more advance and more ambitious than XNT ever was).

Besides Harebrained Schemes LLC is hardly pro indie studio.They made bunch of mistakes in the past and they still tend to do so. What I am trying to say here is that they as GW are still learning ropes, only differences is they have +2 games and 3 kick starter campaigns, under their belt.

I've been trying to test alpha version but I can't get enough time under my sleeve to do it properly.There is freaking a lot of content to cover, on plus side I didn't notice any other bug (surprisingly ) since last one. AI is kind of lackluster unfortunately, I tried to tweaked in old fashioned way through airprops but as I previously stated it's impossible to get desire results that way.

Battletech is apparently done by the shadowrun people, pretty cool. I only ever played dragonfall(so far) but I really liked that game.

I played all their Shadowrun titles. Last one is hardly anything special but it's the most polished title in franchise and if you liked previous entries you will like this too, as long as you don't expect enterily re-done game.

I didn't get the idea behind the words of TD so I don't have an answer for that. Xenonauts 1 will be always special for me and planned the 2. Game will be very different then the xcom we know as I see. So I will try to stay on xeno 1 as much as I can do like ilunak does. Nobody can imagine what ilunak can add to this game in future so I think this days are golden ones for xenonauts and this will continue until ilunak and xce lives and crazy modders continue to mod.

As ai, i think ilunak will care that accuracy ai coding. And I will lock the door so we won't have aliens living ufo of command room issue. Ilunak wants insane aggressive ai so he will handle it sooner or later anyway.

I am planning to add 2 more mech at least. 1 to us 1 to enemy.

Is it really wise to give AI a Mech ? If you do so though, make sure you make special weapons that will handle them, because otherwise they will wreck more chaos than Android among rookie crew equipped with beginning ballistic weapons.

The AI mechs will be another alien drones. They will be in mid/late game.

Drones and human vehicles will be very important for the GC. You dont see much drones at default game even at X-Division. This time it will change. Caesans will have their discs, Sebillians will have heavy tanks and Androns will have drones and mechs. At andron side, the drones number will be more and they will be much tougher.

To counter this, you will have armour penetrating high velocity cannons. Not as different technology, as a side tech with every explosives. For example you will have a HE Alenium Cannon which got a good damage (nearly as the alenium rocket) and a wide explosion radius, then you will have a AP Alenium Cannon which more accurate, long range, very short radius but huge damage. Probably one shot for all normal aliens for that game phase.

So your vehicles are very important at drone fight. Of course you can use high explosives and rockets against them too.

Alien mechs will open our mech tech so they have some too. But i realy liked that enforcer :)

Progress Report:

- With Draku's crazy help, all the new weapons including alien ones descriptions and x-pedias finished. He made most research and manufacturing basic coding, so i just need to fill the blanks. This gave me nearly months so mod will be ready much more sooner..

- Vehicles will be finished very soon. 12 vehicle total including 3 mechs (walkers) with 8 tier weapon, 5 missile and 10 cannon types..

- New explosives with different purposes added.

- Experimental research projects planned. After you finished most of that game phase researches, you will get experimental researches which will give you crazy new weapons. MK3 versions, new version explosives, even new vehicles will be available randomly from that projects.

- Research/manufacture plan is nearly complete. You will disassemble alien weapons for parts and you will use them at manufacture projects of new items to use. For example after laser weapons researched you will get manufacture projects for weapon types. For pistol you need to get 40 alien energy weapon parts and 10 alien alloy. After finished that project, you will get unlimited laser pistol mk-1. Then you will get the mk-2 project if you capture alien specialist. This project will need 80 alien energy weapon part, 15 alien alloy and 5 alenium.

hi, im the newcomer of Xcom. Im very interested in your mod, it looks perfectly added lots of stuff in the game, looks cool.

Can this mod work with khall more portrait mod or LORE+?

In fact, im playing v0.98.2.7, i played already few real hours, and i found out lot of enemy didnt with a guns. And the X-Pedia is still looks the old one.....

How do i know the mod is working or not ?

OR is that the mod priority is wrong?

But is that normal that X-Pedia didnt show the new stuffs details ? such as the AWACS, new weapons .....[ATTACH=CONFIG]6751[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]6752[/ATTACH]

I don't think he added entries for the new weapons in the Xeno-Pedia...

Will you add awesome ballistic weapons from Xenaphobia mod ?

and the main question - when will it be released to beta ?

X-Division got tons of awesome ballistics already in 0.99. Xenophedia images are very poor quality.

I got a daughter 2 weeks ago and got some little problems because she came a bit early into the world. Thx God, she is good now so i gave a break to modding.

At this break, Draku tested nearly every code and items in the 0.99 alpha so it will have nearly no bug at all as content. When i got time i will go for manufacture and research tree. After that the mod will be more then beta.
