how does the mitigation parameter work?

hey, I need a precise explanation: how the "mitigation" weapon parameter works and how the armour reacts to hits. I guess it also affected by the "ArmourDegradation" param of config.xml

what if the weapon has damage=10, mitigation=20, ArmourDegradation=15 and the shot hits an armour of 50? What if there will be 5 shots? etc

Mitigation is fairly simple to explain. Deduct mitigation from armour before working out damage absorbed by armour. So in your example, 20 would be deducted from 50, then the remaining 30 would absorb the 10pts of damage.

Degredation is based on damage that the armour absorbs. If the armour does not absorb any damage due to mitigation (obvious example is alien sniper rifle), it does not cause degredation. Degredation is applied to the armour's current score. If degredation is set to 15% and the armour absorbs all 10pts of damage, the armour would degrade to 48 (15% of 10 is 2 rounding up). If another shot from the same weapon hits, the armour would then degrade to 46.

10 damage - (50 armour - 20 mitigation) = 10 - 30 = 0 damage taken

10 damage goes to armour so %15 (ArmourDegradation) of the 10 = 2... 50 (armour) - 2 = 48 armour left..

2. shot=

10 - (48-20) = 10-28= 0 damage taken.. again 2 damage to armour 48-2 =46 left.. so goes on..
