[Question] Tutorial messages

Hi everyone!

Just bought the game a couple of days ago.

How am I supposed to read the ending of these tutorial messages? The scrolling doesn't work neither with the mousewheel, nor with the arrow keys. As you can see, even the first line is a bit cropped out, but the ending is basically missing.

I think Chris has said before that it's a game engine issue. Playing with a higher resolution might help, if that's possible on your machine.

Thanks for the reply kabill. I'm playing on 1920x1200, and that's the maximum resolution my monitor supports.

Heh, maybe a smaller resolution then? I guess it's caused by the ratio than the actual resolution.

Alternatively, if you open strings.xml in your xenonauts/assets folder and search for "explanatorytooltips" you'll be able to find all the entries for the different tutorials. Hardly ideal but if you're wanting to read them it might be better than faffing with resolution.

Yeah, I remember Chris saying something that the engine pretty much only supports resolutions up to 1080p and that there could be some issues if you go higher.

It wasn't the engine in this instance, it was just our UI design. I didn't properly consider scaling when I designed it and it came back to bite us in the ass in the end.

The problem is that the text is scaling with vertical height (1200px) when it's expecting to have only 1080px height at 1920px width, so it winds up being too big for the box.
