I was always under impression there is a consequence for base structures damaged during a base defense GC. At least, xenopedia text implies there has to be some negative effect and those guys definitely love to shoot at my stuff... But it appears no matter how big the damage is dealt to my buildings, they work normally after the mission end. so, did this "feature" ever worked in the past? Why it was turned off? Or maybe it's always been broken (there's AI code which makes aliens attack structures but it was turned off because this feature wasn't functional). Either way, it's never actually worked.
