There's some stuff stickied at the top of this subforum (e.g. the "how to add a new weapon post, although I think that's partially outdated now as it doesn't include stuff on the modular modding system). Try doing small mods and tweaking them 'til they work, then move on to the next thing. That's how I learned, anyway. (And, obviously, if you need help with something specific just ask.)
