XenoMask Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 So are Chrysalids in XCOM: Enemy Unknown now ant people? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05/22/hands-on-safety-off-xcom-enemy-unknown/ Quote
Gauddlike Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Well they were always anti people so maybe someone misread the design document? Quote
Slam Bus Rodan Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 So are Chrysalids in XCOM: Enemy Unknown now ant people? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05/22/hands-on-safety-off-xcom-enemy-unknown/ After looking at bout "reimagingings" of the classic Chryssalid, I've got to say the Xenonauts has the superior design. Well, if those leaked images I saw were indeed true. Quote
thothkins Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 There are, presumably, hundreds of rocket launchers just waiting to be taken into the field but a squaddie must be promoted before he/she is able to use them. I'd be going 'huh?' if it was in this game, so it's only fair I roll my eyes when it's in theirs. It's sunny here, so I could make out bog all of the ant thingies in the pics. Having accidentally stumbled around the Xenonauts equivalent, they look decent enough. But the proof will be in the zombie erupting pudding of game play. Quote
XenoMask Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I do think they mentioned manufacturing in earlier video so I'm kind of confused about that. Maybe manufacturing works differently or they got different version to preview. Quote
Gorlom Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Who are you quoteing there thothkins? the XCOM:EU article? Quote
XenoMask Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Who are you quoteing there thothkins? the XCOM:EU article? Its from article with pics of what is probably new Chrysalids. Quote
thothkins Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 yeah, it's from the article.. I must make that clearer in my posts... Quote
Commissar Pancakes Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The "improved" Cryssalids just look plain silly...no capturing of the malicious smile either... Quote
Slam Bus Rodan Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 I agree. When Chryssalids stop looking like xenomorphs and start resembling spiders, it's a step down. I wonder if Wal-Mart would try to capture a Reaper for their bio-weapons division? Quote
thothkins Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Will a lot be in how the new Chrysalids move though? The giant ants may be very creepy to see in action. Quote
Commissar Pancakes Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Once you've seen one giant insect, you've kinda seen them all. At least with the Cryssalid, it had that giant creepy "rape" grin. Quote
thothkins Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 now we know why your location is [REDACTED] the savage land of 1950s mutated insects with rape grins is something society should surely be protected from. Quote
Commissar Pancakes Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 It's also to make sure that the guy/gal that I'm standing behind doesn't realize he has a gun to the back of his head... By the way, thothkins...don't turn around... Quote
thothkins Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Yeah don't want to see his grin... what a terrible moment to have dropped soap... Quote
XenoMask Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Ok, heres Chrysalid footage in action (killing someone and bursting out) Oh and some random guy's reaction. Sorry, couldn't find original video just some guy's reaction video. Quote
