  1. Ha ha ha, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, hire Skitso The transition to 3d may improve the situation, we'll see.
  2. Ok, so it's primarily money. That's fine, I simply wanted to know where the differences came from. I understand you don't have the resources of, say, Firaxis. Therefore, I don't expect Xenonauts 2 to look as good as X-COM 2 or even X-COM 1. I guess if you honestly think the 2 pictures you linked are actually nice art then we must have different concepts of good looking. Maybe I'm spoiled by the many games out there which have large investors behind them. I'm sorry if I offended you, that was NOT my intention. I'm actually really glad someone made a more faithful X-COM game. Luckily, your gameplay / mechanics is a LOT better than the dumbed-down Firaxis version. Also, your price setting is way better (especially considering the incredibly annoying DLC packs games nowadays have). That's what made me buy X1, and that's almost certainly what will make me buy X2.
  3. Personal taste? So you honestly think Xenonauts looks even remotely as good as for instance Shadowrun or Invisible Inc? Both are made by indie developers. Anyway, it was a real question and not a troll. I'm actually curious what made you decide to go for the chosen artist(s). I can remember there was a guy on the forum who remade some of the portraits which looked incomparably better than the stock ones. Why not hire him/her?
  4. I've played Xenonauts for maybe 20 hours when it came out, and I liked it a lot. The only thing that dissuaded me from playing more were the pretty awful graphics. Looking at the art you added to the first post, I'm afraid it again is going to look really really poor. My question is : why can't you hire someone who can draw? Sometimes I see other games that look ten times better and always wonder why companies can't hire people who can actually draw well. Is it too expensive?
  5. I really loved playing Xenonauts 1 because it had the time-units you could use to meticulously plan your path (faithful to X-COM 1). The only thing I didn't really like were the graphics. If you would keep the same core gameplay, but with improved graphics (2d is fine, 3d is also good) I would buy it in a heartbeat.
  6. Yikes! Developers, could you please respond to this? I use the same computer I play Xenonauts on for work and banking. If there is a virus in Xenonauts we REALLY need to know!
  7. It says: "Xenonauts Community Edition 0.27 UNOFFICIAL: Peek-a-boo" How do I activate the feature of visually showing cover? Also, I pressed on the roof icon, but the ground floor didn't disappear (so I can see my soldiers behind buildings and such).
  8. How can you tell XCE is installed? I don't see any mention anywhere in the game. I installed the portraits mod and the ultimate maps pack mod and I see huge changes, but with the XCE mod I don't notice anything different. Do I need to start a new campaign?
  9. Thanks for your reply Kabill. So, to clarify: if I stay on the latest community mod, then I'll also have the latest patch? Are the save games compatible, or do I need to start a new game?
  10. A few questions: 1. Regarding the community mod... if they are really key improvements, do you release them also in the normal patches? e.g., v1.10? 2. If you install the community mod, does that interfere with patches? If so, which version of the community mod belongs to which version of (the Steam build of) Xenonauts?
  11. Jsleezy, I sent you a PM. I'm impressed with your graphics.
  12. Oh my! This is so much better than the stock pictures! Maybe a stupid question, but why don't you sell your avatars so they will be in the game by default on release? Your pictures are unbelievably important for the feel of the game. Very, very high praises to you!!
