I just found out that if I run the game Windowed at a lower resolution then my monitor I can now exit the game without a lockup.

yes alt-f4 does the same thing

If I am in the game or in the start screen with Exit, New game, Load game, Game options and push Exit or Ctrl-Alt-del, or Alt-Tab I get a black screen. The computer is still working but I have lost control of the computer and the screen. Nothing I do can get me out of this screen other then a hard boot. I removed all mods, 'verify integrity of game cache' , and made sure my drivers are up to date, but nothing works. I can play the game with no problems, just trying to exit locks it up.
