  1. I have one base that makes all my weapons and armour but all my other bases have a garrison of 6 to 8 soldiers in case of alien attack. Imagine my surprise to find that (via the stores screen at least) I can't send surplus or obsolete equipment from my main base to my satellite bases. So if they do get attacked it's ballistics and no armour. Is there a way round this, short of having manufacturing in every base?
  2. Using real places is hardcore. Mine are named after sports stadia and places in books.
  3. Thanks for the explanation - yeah, I was oversimplifying because usually ICBA to work it out properly. All other thing being near enough equal, bursts do seem to make more sense. If you have your 71% probability of a 1 hit from 3 rounds verses a hypothetical 71% chance of a hit with an aimed single shot, the two usually being about the same in TUs in my game so far, then the burst makes more sense. The single shot offers a maximum of one hit whereas the 3-round burst offers the possibility, even if small, of more.
  4. It's one of those things with the antennae taking pot shots from a roof, dodging around the ducts and stuff. It was sniping and hitting my guys who were facing it but unable to see it. Suppressing machine-gun laser fire didn't work, it was all blocked to 0% effect by the air conditioning ducting. Eventually I tossed more or less every grenade I had onto the roof and the fire ceased. At the end of the mission I was told I'd killed all the aliens, so obviously the plastering with grenades worked, but at no stage did I see the actual alien, just bolts of fire during the aliens' turn. Very annoying. I have a tank now, so maybe that will help another time. Failing that, I'd just have to capture the ship, and wait out till I win that way. The trouble was, this alien shot my guys in the back as they ran from cover to the ship. And if Rooftop Sniper Guy didn't kill them, someone else did as soon as the doors opened.
  5. You've used the wheel to scroll in as far as possible then?
  6. What is this showing exactly? The chance of scoring a hit is the sum of the individual short probabilities so I just fire whatever combination of shots maxes this out. Burst firing gets through a lot of ammo but I haven't ever actually run out.
  7. What it says really. I'm a very experienced XCom / TFTD player and so far this game is exactly what I hoped for, but I am finding it a PITA when my ground teams get sniped from rooftops to which I have no access. I have no flying suits yet (whatever they're called now) so all I can do is try to capture the alien ship without my guys getting shot as they run to it. I have tried tossing grenades onto the roof but there is a huge area in the middle you can't get a grenade to. Ctrl-firing into it the roof from the floor below has no effect because the roof is impenetrable. What do others do?
