  1. OK, have attached the only save I have near to this issue. Just hit End Turn and the explosive should blow. If it's going to crash, it will crash then. It doesn't happen every time, but where there is no crash, afterwards you can see there was an alien hiding behind the locked door who is injured by the blast but not killed. (The alien killed / not killed thing is just a hypothesis - since the crashes kill the game completely it's not something I can verify. But the common factor in all the crashes is detonation of explosives - that's when it happens.) crash.sav crash.sav
  2. Ah right, thanks. I've only been playing the standard build.
  3. One of the things I really like about Xenonauts is those little moments of unscripted, emergent drama. An example: Very early in my campaign, on one of my first ground missions, I didn't really know what I was doing and was being much too aggressive and reckless. It was an industrial map, and two of my soldiers were sweeping a warehouse. I was pretty sure it was empty and was just quickly sweeping through it. Both of my men were on a second floor catwalk, heading towards a door. I advanced them as far as they would go until they ran out of time units (didn't even crouch them) and then hit End Turn. Oh no! The door opened and a Caesan appeared through it on to the catwalk. My guys didn't stand a chance! Aaargh! Suddenly, there was a sound of smashing glass and the Caesan was plastered with a hail of bullets. Dead, it fell to the floor. What was that? My heavy weapons soldier had reaction-fired his machine gun from seemingly half the map away, along an unbelievably unlikely line of sight up from ground level and through a second floor window. He had saved my guys. What a hero! Little moments like that just seem to come straight out of an action movie, and are so much better for not being scripted but for just happening. Awesome stuff!
  4. I know it's probably too late for additional features, but anyway... It would be nice if there was a hall of fame or memorial wall or something for soldiers who were killed in action. I've lost countless troops over the course of my campaign - some rookies who fell on their first mission, some grizzled veterans who finally succumbed. Most of the rookies, I don't even remember their names... It would be nice to have a screen showing the soldier profile of KIA troops, their stats and medals, when and how they died, etc.
  5. I'm getting a persistent but hard to reproduce crash-to-desktop when using explosives (C4) when attacking alien bases. I often use explosives to blow open locked doors or vents, but on numerous occasions (on several different missions) I have had the game crash to desktop at the exact moment of detonation. It doesn't happen every time, though. I think, but I'm not sure, that it happens when the explosion would have killed an unseen alien (i.e. there's an invisible alien behind the door who would be killed by the blast).
  6. On the end-mission summary screen I was notified that one of my soldiers had received a Savior Medal for eliminating an alien who was mind-controlling another of my soldiers. This medal has subsequently not appeared on the soldier's profile.
