  1. You're playing a turn based game, use your imagination. They're not actually just standing there waiting to get shot.
  2. If you want just one nationality you can only recruit that nationality. In xcom93 you could rename soldiers, but it's totally fine to have this more realistic xenonauts way. No job is going to force you to be renamed when you join, it's immersion breaking to be able to customise soldiers. I personally prefer full customisation but your reasoning makes no sense.
  3. Just turn your heavy to the side, or place them out of line with your other troops.
  4. It wasn't reflex based, you could pause and issue orders in Xenonauts 1
  5. I feel like that'd only work if it only updated once a day, with hexes all over the planet being fought over by aliens and humans in some large scale campaign. Like those mobile strategy games.
  6. Apocalypse does seem really popular with all my friends that played it, though I never got to. that realtime/turnbased toggle was really interesting. I think the only time I saw it since was Dragon Age Origins.
  7. I do love the civilians /cops, specially when they go on a killing spree Humanity fuck yeah!
  8. Game hangs when receiving reaction fire as a soldier steps onto a teleporter. I'm glad I save scum constantly Also I can't seem to get the shift waypointing in the interceptor fights to work. thanks for a great game
  9. I used to use lots of gas/flashbangs but then I went up against a load of mechanised troops in a row, such a pain when you're not prepared.. Heavy machinegun in their faces is quite satisfying, and effective edit: now I suddenly have electro shock grenades. feelsgood.jpg =3
  10. That's pretty interesting, yay for testers
  11. Gosh I remember watching UFO when I was little, that may explain my love of these xcom style games <3
  12. Open xcom is pretty fun, but it seems to suffer from some performance issues for me, shame really.
  13. Hi o/ Emily from the uk, being redirected here in my over-excitement I don't even know why I loved xcom so much, maybe It was all the back stories and attachment to my soldiers, and that dice-roll gunplay (autoshot totally works with rookies at long range!) Looking forward to release, hopefully this comes out before the other remake
  14. Yeah I just found it, embarassing Good to see development progressing nicely
