Irishguy117
Is it possible to take Androns alive somehow? I tried hitting one with a shock stick to see what would happen but I'm not sure if it was just stubborn (It took stun damage but never went down) or if it has no effect on them and I just have to live without my 10% damage boost against them. kabill
Don't think so, no. I think weapons which would normally do stun damage do real damage against them instead (excluding stun gas).
Sandyxx
not possible, as with cyberdisks^W drones. and there are no entry in xenopedia about live androns.
MortuusSum
Makes sense. They're never really "alive" anyway; if you brought a functional one back, all the geeks would do is "kill" it and do what they did with the "corpse" anyway.
Sandyxx
hm. it we think about this, than yes, geeks can just open it's hard drive \ memory and disassemble it's programming. so you aren't really need one alive. another problem is: why aren't they crushed to BSOD after being hit by high voltage charge of stun baton? According to the tooltip, the stun baton does stun + electro magnetic damage. So if you score enough hits, the andron should go down. Sandyxx
last time i've tried this, one adron get like 6 hits from stun baton and doesn't give anny f*** about. maybe i'm should recheck this and write down a bug.
Commissar Pancakes
Well...you're bashing a giant metal machine man that can withstand high-velocity metal impacts repeatedly with a small metal [beating] stick... ...how ELSE would you think that would go down?
Sandyxx
metal stick, which in 1-2 hits make giant regenerating lizards from space go to nice long sleep (with possibility of worst hangover in their life on awakening) before mentioned stick is generating sufficiently high voltage, if you be so kind to reread xenopedia article. so i'm don't see why androns shouldn't be susceptible to such amounts of punishment. p.s. there are possibility, that stick emp damage doesn't work, as expected, and so androns only achieve 5 dmg from physical damage next time i see andron in battle i'll test how many hits does it take oh. and stick isn't metal by any way. because in this case it would electrocute soldier UPD: this is clearly a bug: 12 hits into small drone with stun baton, and he is still alive. 1 electroshock grenade and he is broken into pieces. is i'm understand correctly, game is tryinng to apply stun damage to drone instead of EMP. Valerian
I just bought and started playing Xenonauts (played the original XCOM more than 15 years ago, and EU when it was released). First serious game, normal difficulty, iron man, just finished researching stun technology. I therefore equip all of my team with stun grenades and almost all of them with shock batons, waiting for the next encounter to try their effectiveness. I find some Andron (which I had never met before) and decide that I will bring one back alive. After 3 stun grenades, 12 shock baton attacks, and 4 soldiers dead, I started to realize that maybe the issue was not a lack of effectiveness of stun weapons in xenonauts
Commissar Pancakes
Stun grenades and rockets are gas-based. You'll need to use them and flashbangs in tandem to make sure those filthy xenos scum go down quickly, as gas needs a few turns to work. Andrew
Androns are basically robots, so they cannot be taken alive anyway. Although, I have modified game slightly, so their "corpses" give me little money as scrap metal..
FranTorres
Is it me or the game marks an andron officer as a leader to capture even though there are NO other lifeforms in the map? well there were 3 harridans but those were simple troopers by the color blue of their uniforms. Anyways yeah it's quite impossible to baton down an andron, just had one surrounded and beaten Rodney King style and that guy won't go down... maybe that notification about the "there's a leader in this ground mission" is a bug?
