It's a fairly old, cheesy, made-for-TV sci-fi where humanity has ventured into space, established colonies and all that jazz. For whatever reason humans split into two factions, could be the usual Earth vs. colonists but I'm not sure. In any case the "evil" human faction sends a fleet of cruisers to conduct some sort of sneak attack on Earth (maybe to just destroy/nuke it, don't remember) and the only people who can stop them are a group of space cadets and their instructor conducting an exercise in a training corvette. Somehow they stumble upon the attacking fleet but have no time/means to send out any kind of warning so they decide they have no choice but to try and stop the whole cruiser fleet (before they reach Earth) with just their little training boat. The movie then proceeds to make you wonder why these people ever bother building bigger-than-corvette warships. Weapons used are lasers (of the beamy type) and missiles and near the end of the movie we see some kind of satellite defence system in Earth orbit. That's all I remember. Oh and there's a bar fight between the two factions' cadets near the start of the movie. Anyone know the title? I'd really like to find it, I'm in the mood for some cheese.

HI! Well, yesterday I watched this movie, and man!! IT gave me goose bumps all the time! What a great movie!! Now I'm fuc^*$ng dying to see the sequel!!!!
