  1. From our point of view the Desura client is the best way for you to download the game as it is where the most up-to-date versions of the game are, and it allows you to autoupdate the game without downloading the entire thing every time. Therefore, if possible, it's best to download the Desura client and use that if you can. However, not all of you can do this for a variety of reasons, and some of you plain do not want to. With that in mind, the Desura guys have agreed to add a standalone download of the game (in zip form) that can be downloaded as long as you've purchased Xenonauts and have logged into Desura. This is how to do it: 1) Make sure you've bought Xenonauts on Desura. 2) Log into the Desura site. 3) Visit http://www.desura.com/games/xenonauts/download 4) Download the game. 5) Unzip the exe to any directory, and run Xenonauts.exe. As mentioned above, this is not the optimal way to download the game. Updates will reach this branch more slowly as its not our main focus and it's a pain in the ass to upload 500mb of files every time we make 2mb of changes, but they will reach it. My thanks go to Scott from Desura for making this happen, as they certainly didn't have to do it but were happy to help us out nonetheless.
  2. This is a further update for Build V17.5, (hopefully) fixing most of the crash bugs in the game. It is available on Desura both with the standalone and the auto-updater. This build is in the process of being ported to Mac and Linux too, as it's been a while since either of those two versions have had an update. In terms of new features, there aren't really very many to speak of as it is primarily a stability build. Unfortunately, I was a bit of a moron last time around and didn't save the folder structure for the archive files I generated, so I've had to re-generate them again. This means you'll have to redownload them all again, making this update 3.3gb (I have saved the folder structure this time though so there won't be any further issues with this). We have made some good progress this week but we've not locked it down into a new build yet. Also, as we're doing a bit more internal testing on the builds, it takes longer to release them - so expect the build I scheduled for this weekend to arrive some time next week instead. We'll keep you posted on how it is coming along, but there'll be some cool new stuff in it like our updated launcher and the like.
  3. Can someone please give me a link to the latest build? I have been stuck with build 9 since I did my premium preorder and I cannot find a link to download the latest build anywhere.
  4. Is it me or is the windows version of the xenonauts (v15) missing from the standalone download page "http://www.desura.com/games/xenonauts/download"
  5. Is there a Direct Download for Xenonauts? As in, just a zip file or torrent I can download? Desura has been giving me nothing but issues when trying to get Xenonauts to install/update or even run. I haven't been able to play the game in months.
  6. Going through the stand-alone download option, the premium alpha shows as V14.1, not V14.1.1 like the standard version. Is it going to be there or is it an oversight?
  7. I decided to pre-order Xenonauts today, not knowing that Desura operates exactly like Steam, that you have to run their client in order to play the game. Since I'm against DRM on principle I would not have purchased Xenonauts had I realized this. I thought Desura was a dissimilar alternative to Steam where I could download the game and play it without using a third party client. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. Once the full game is complete, will purchasers have the option to download an actual stand-alone copy of the game?
  8. Hello Everyone. Just the one question today, is it possible to install the game without the use of Desura Portal?
  9. I give thanks for the idea of the manual download without desura, but I have to suggest and it is really a need to split the main archive in several archives to download. When a file downloading has a connection failure, wich is very frecuent in my country:mad:, it is a waste of time triying to download an almost 1 gb file. So, I have been facing a lot of waste of time triying to download XENONAUTS since I decide to pre-order, because internet connection fails at 320 MB or 800 MB, it is the same. I really need at least 4 parts to achieve download the game. I will very much appreciate your efforts helping to let me get the game. thanks in advance
