  1. Lookng forward to this. Not going to lie, I was planning on streaming this, but since you asked I will refrain from doing so. Quick question though: are you okay with a video being made to talk about the different features such as air combat? Now, this wouldn't really be showing off to much, but just be more of an updated version of the video you had of the air combat a while ago. If you don't want this either that's cool. I'm probably too lazy to actual record and then edit that anyways so you don't have much to worry about there. Anyways, really looking forward to this coming out in a bit. Freed my schedule today for this. Hopefully I can provide some helpful feedback.
  2. For their project after Xenonauts 2 I wouldn't mind hem making that game they had originally planned on doing. That still sounds cool.
  3. Impressive go so far. Got 2 stretch goals so far and it looks like you'll be able to get a bit more as it progresses. I know that I'll be adding in a bit more money once I get it . It's a little difficult with the changes to Euros and Kickstarter not listing everything in one currency type. I am a bit sad that only one of the stretch goals I wanted is in the top three, but if it gets you more money, I can live with it. I can always try my hand at modding. I did give myself some interesting ideas talking about the features you wanted to implement.
  4. I don't know much to help you out. At the place I work at now, most of the QA is done in-house. I think it is only the big places that do game testers. One thing I do know though is that the big places really require you to live in the area so you can test in person. Most AAA studios won't send you their work so you can do it remotely.
  5. So I tried to get the latest update to install and when I got to use the patcher I'm getting errors. It says that genteerl.dll is wither not able to run on windows or that there is an issue with the download. Is that a known issue or am I doing it wrong? I have the file with the patcher in it unzipped and I'm trying to run the installer. Does it have to be in the Xenonauts folder? Any help here would be appreciated.
  6. Hey All. Sorry if I'm asking something that is readily explained in some previous posts (there are just so many now) but I have some questions about the updates. I recently started playing this mod based off of the link for the 3 core downloads. I have some stuff that clearly needs to be updated and I noticed some updates after where I download my files from. My question is, what all extra stuff do I need and, if it needs to be done this way, what order do the things need to be installed in? Also, if I do update, can I continue my current save file? I'm just curious. I started a stream of this this morning and I really am enjoying it so far and I don't exactly want to have to start over from the beginning / be able to get the most up to date experience. Thanks for your replies.
  7. This was an interesting read. I'm looking forward to the kickstarter. I'd happily pay $35 to get the early access. I do miss there won't be physical products this time, but digital products should all be good. I do love my artbook for X1. Hoping for some cool goodies like that this time.
  8. Well, thanks to this news I'll probably be lurking here more. especially now that I have my own tbs in the works.
  9. I'm really interested to learn some more about the lore for this game. I know it's not supposed to be connected with Xenonauts but since this is set semi-far into the future it might could be just not explicitly stated. But that is not really important. I'm just a lore-whore. Although, I must ask, is there any chance that you might put the Scuttler into this game? I really liked it's design.
  10. Everything seems pretty cool. Can't wait to see what you do with the system. It's not a bad system but it felt a little lacking to me in XCOM. Also, a little idea for a building. It would be awesome to have to go to a factory that is an assembly line for Androns as a little nod.
  11. Yep. Not that bad. Also lots of mods.
  12. SimCity 4 also had so much content and lasting potential. Only thing really holding it back was graphics.
  13. All of this sounds very interesting. The basic details of the games both sound interesting so far. I'm looking forward to more updates.
  14. I started watching TotalBiscuit's Game Awards Show and in the sectionof Best Crowdfunded Games he brought up Xenonauts. He also seemed to speak very positively about the game. I'm always happy to see this game get some press by somebody well-known.
  15. Was really looking into getting that game. My only problem is my lacking of money. Would love to get one of the big tiers. Looks pretty good. Also, I'm loving the art style.
  16. I can't remember rthe specifics of which aliens carry those guns but I think Androns do as well. Maybe RNGesus has not smiled favorably upon you and you just haven't found one yet.
  17. I could be wrong but I think you get it from officers and leaders. Maybe you are blowing them all up and you haven't been able to recover any of them.
  18. I loved SupCom because of the improvements, especially in FA, and the experimentals were pretty sweet but I was disappointed by its sequel. That wasn't in the same style as the previous. I also liked Spore. I replayed that many times. But apparently everyone else hated that game. But I have always liked Maxis. Except for what they did to Sims 4. It did seem to be even a step back from the base of the 3rd game. Other than that it was mostly what I was expecting. My expectations might have also been low because they had just gave away the complete version of Sims 2. Still pretty good.
  19. The games that disappointed me recently are an interesting bunch. The first one for me would be the new Alien game. The AI can do some pretty stupid things. And, I don't really want to get too nitpicky but the ultimate predator should be able to sense me under a table or in a locker. That a for some reason the people look weird to me. I know others say it look beautiful and I will admit the aesthetics of the levels look nice but the people just look like there is something off about them. Maybe it's just some uncanny valley stuff. Also, I will admit I did enjoy Aliens more than Alien so I would have been more happy with just another game like Colonial Marines but without the problems that that game had. (I also feel like that game would have been better received if it didn't do the thing with that demo being way better. People complained about you fighting humans more in that game than you did aliens but you do about the same in this game as well.) I was a little disappointed recently with how the new Dragon Age handled its tactical view. Really made for a console. But I did find out that it had an interesting multiplayer so that kindof made up for it. The only other thing I was really disappointed about recently was that the new Xenoblade game doesn't have a specific release date. That and the fact that GTA V will be $60 when it's released for the PC. Won't be getting that any time soon. Some of my friends are upset at me for not wanting to get it as soon as it comes out but I don't want to pay $60 for a game that came out over a year ago just so that I can do multiplayer with my friends.

I guess I'll continue the rest of my post here. A Certain Scientific Railgun is a spinoff of Index about a recurring character called Railgun, an electromaster, and focuses more on the science side of the setting. I highly recommend this. I liked how this show took a little more time with their stories and actually showed off a little bit of the characters' lives when they aren't doing main story stuff. It gets pretty interesting when it gets into the ethics with cloning, unchecked science, and the struggle of people without powers. Also the 2nd story of season 2 had a lot of mecs in it. It even had a transformer of sorts. I do recommend this more than Index. Not that Index was bad but this was made after Index and it does show in some of the quality. This clip is from a little bit later in the show but it has a lot of mecs: Some else already mentioned Hellsing Ultimate and I do recommend it too. The only thing for me that I thought was a little weird was one seen that involved sex, nudity, and a kids dead mother and how the Catholic army looked very similar to the KKK. But it is Japanese so they might not know what that is. Other than that the show is very good and to me at least look gorgeous. A trailer for the first 4 volumes: Rail Wars! was an interesting show if you like trains and action. Also a pretty sweet op and ed. Actuall the ed might have been better than the whole show. Show is still pretty good but the song, Overdriver, whew. The first couple of episodes were very good but around ep 4 they started to get a little creepy with one episode some chick managed to lose every piece of clothing. Had a good bit of action though. Supposed to be set in a universe where Japan never privatized their rail system. The main characters are in the railway security department of the government and deal with bomb threats and hijackings. Opening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEF3Ee9ij4s Ending: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr3j3Ua3iFI I also did a little watching of Ghost in the Shell Arise. Lovely opening. Do want to watch the new movies. I do recommend to anyone techie. Trailer for the new movies: Note your computer is not broken. The clip is supposed to do that. As for recommendations for what has been said by others: Attack on Titan was okay for me. Sometimes a little too violent but not that bad. I do think they need another season mainly because not many things happened / got answered in season one and that ending. Not going to spoil anything but that ending was... I will say for Chris that Terra Formars feels a lot like AoT but set in our future. Also they made people a little bit stronger and the enemies less op. But I might be a little biased because ep 3 or 4 had one team that was sent to Mars land at Cydonia. Really want the alien brain to be sitting in one of the pyramids. As for more mec things the only one that Chris didn't list that I could think of was Macross (I'd recommend Frontier. Better explanation for why singing affected the aliens. That and good singing.) and some weird show where the bad guys was a race of penguins with reversed tails that looked like erections. Well back to Macross. Pretty good. I really liked it. Tried watching the first recently but it was made in 83 so it's pretty old. The nudity surprised me though. Very random. But I would say Frontier is pretty good. Also, if you like mecs and steampuck tech with a little noir thrown in I do recommend Korra. I don't know if you'd be into that Chris but it is pretty interesting. When they first introduced mecs in the show though it was so cool. Very unexpected. TNoyce and Michael may I ask what part of Korra are you on? I am just trying to see what I can say that won't be a spoiler. Also, I just wanted to see how yall liked where this season is going.
