  1. Your mod certainly looks like worth trying out! For sure it will add some flavour to my game. Do I need to start a new one game or it will work with the old one? Also, if you don't mind me asking, which files I should edit to make the game more challenging? Thanks!
  2. Thanks! And how about changing difficulty of already running game? Any known hacks?
  3. Thanks for your responses. Guess I need to gives some space to the invaders, although it feels a bit awkward. I guess switching to Insane might be even better idea, but is it possible in-game? I do not want to start a new game. In all strategic games, including UFO: Enemy Unknown, I always strived for a superiority on a strategic layer, which I guess is not uncommon thing to do. I was kind of hoping that regardless of that bases will just spawn. Which UFO construct bases? Corvette, Landship?
  4. I am in mid-January and still no base assult mission happened to me. Am I too efective in taking down enemy UFO or it is just my luck? I am playing on Veteran difficulty level. I vaguely remember that in Beta the first such mission was in November the latest.
  5. Thank you Commissar. I just remember times when the rates for all airstrikes were much higher. Crisis?
  6. Hey, What are the current airstrike rates for e.g. small scout? I am playing on 1.07 and I receive 15,000$, not enough even to cover for improved armour. I vaguely remember that at some point Chris mentioned that amount of cash will be buffed a bit, so I wonder whether it made to the game. Thing is I started this campaign on either 1.05 or 1.05.
  7. Desura still did not get 1.06 for Linux. Any word on when can we expect it? Thanks for the great work!
  8. Your flawed assumption lead to millions of civilian causalities, Commander. Oh wait, actually I am not sure how obvious it would be for me if not for experience with original UFO . Your other idea was correct: next time try sending Chinook. You have time to get to any terror site in the world. Good luck!
  9. If I understood Chris correctly, then on Humble Bundle you can already find a native build that is reasonably up to date. I suppose you have Steam edition, but you could try asking Chris to provide you Humble Bundle key. Anyway, I would wait with playing till 1.05 is out (as Kordanor suggested) to get the best experience. Although if you like start right away, then 1.0 is already great and there should be no save-breaking changes when upgrading. Have fun!
  10. Hej Cytrynek, Linux builds are available, but to my knowledge they are quite outdated. I am quite sure that Chris, The Supreme Leader, said that couple of days after Windows release we should also expect one for Linux. Stay tuned and do not despair. Unless there is a reason you do not use the native port other than too old build?
  11. Honestly, it seems Goldhawk Interactive and its beloved leader Chris have no idea about modern software development process. Fixing all issues BEFORE releasing the product? No intention whatsoever to produce a dozen patches in the coming month? Guys, you should hire some managers and quality auditor; and by any means do not forget to create a Resource Optimisation Team! It really feels like some retarded, pre-internet era game, when game developers did not have all the smart business people above their heads, therefore releasing product when it is actually ready. And now what? Am I going to play a game without familiar crashes to desktop, game-breaking stuff or major balancing issues? I am not even sure if I still know how. I was always so much looking forward to weekly patches to every newly released game on Steam. So disappointed, shame on you Chris! All is not lost. Perhaps in time you will become a more mature organisation and forfeit some of your malpractices, especially this community feedback nonsense. You should get internships in a corporate environment, where they will teach you such useful things like pushing most of issues to backlog (connected to a black hole or parallel universe on the other end) and that nice graphics is all that matters. Learn that only marketing department is worthy of saying what should be in. And that there is no problem in a "process" that cannot be fixed by introducing a new process, preferably with lot of signatures and 20-page long template. Your sincerely, Lucas
  12. I would also like to hear what are the plans for Linux? I do not mind using Desura.
  13. Since now I am using multiple map packs, how can I tell the name of a map? Of course I could just make screenshot and ask who recognises those doors standing in the middle of nowhere . Actually I liked them, somehow they felt a bit like Neil Gaiman had a contribution there.
  14. I am using both Stinky's and Skitso's maps - they both did terrific job! No problems seen so far on Stable 21, I can wholeheartedly recommend installing them and enjoying new challenges. Wonder whether GH could include them in the official set and perhaps compensate somehow authors for their hard work? It is quite late in the process, but the added maps really make huge difference in case player wants to do given type of UFO more than a couple of times. The game would stand a bit lower in my ranking if not for the community map packs that add good amount of replayability. Only a couple of these maps could use additional polish.
  15. Thanks for prompt response! Indeed I used the client. I see that there is a V20 Stable 2 available. Any word on when we can expect V21 for Linux?
