  1. What it sounds like. The soldier on the 2nd floor can't move into the room under the cursor in the screenshot. For whatever reason the tiles are inaccessible.
  2. Just played the game for the first time since, I dunno, one of the experimental V20s I think. Anyway I think its coming along really nicely. Unless I'm missing something the new loading screen seems great-a simple, clean iteration that is the first I've seen to replace the old placeholder. It only took 10 seconds maybe to load. I don't have a fast computer, it is about 8 years old and xenonauts isn't installed on an SSD. The new reaction system feels familiar and intuitive, and for the first time aliens ran inside a building where I had a guy camped out on approach to the UFO. As soon as he opened the door... shotgun to the face. I've only played the first mission so far to check it out, but I think things are looking really nice. congrats. looking forward to release.
  3. Hi Matthew, I can't recall much more than what I already posted, and I haven't experienced it before or since unfortunately. Here's the save I made at that time, though as I noted above, upon reload the geoscape timer worked as normal... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66833287/2013-11-12_16.49.05.sav
  4. Just to confirm, after I reloaded the save I created (with time frozen) the geoscape timer worked as normal
  5. I have had this same problem repeatedly show up in my current playthrough, though it stopped happening to me after 20.2.
  6. Ha, no that would make far too much sense. I needed to go do something else anyway and I had had a good run so I just quit.
  7. Hard to recollect circumstances immediately prior to this, but I believe it was just after completing a combat mission. The geoscape timer was frozen, and wouldn't resume even after trying several things to fix ( opening up base screen, options screen etc) as well as cycling the various speeds. Have a screenshot, though obviously this wont show the actual problem...
  8. Cant recall the exact circumstances which caused this, but I believe it may have been research completing at the same time as the air combat began. Before I could get into the air combat I had to assign new research (or possibly manufacturing), and then go to the geoscape view from the base screen. Once I got there I was greeted with this odd view- The three screenshots show how I was able to manipulate the air combat overlay by holding down the LMB and dragging- the same way you would drag the geoscape around.
  9. What it sounds like. On approach to the alien landing craft the aliens in the top floor began shooting at my two soldiers in cover behind the log to the right of the landing craft entrance. They continued to fire at my troops as they proceeded through the craft to the elevators in back. Seems as if the entire floor of the ship was made of swiss cheese.
  10. I've also had this bug, in my case it was after adjusting the default rifleman loadout. I also noticed that the text next to the class type wouldn't update, so all of my guys were labelled as "assault troopers".
  11. I've had the same problem Cadavez, check out the bug report thread- http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/7835-V20-Experimental-Can-t-start-new-research
  12. I have the same bug, also after ordering 5 more scientists as indicated on the linked bug report
  13. I agree, I've been following the game for 2 years? now, and though it was the old dark cold war art style that really sold me on the project originally (beyond the obvious appeal of a faithful X-Com successor), I think that the UI has been improving by leaps and bounds in every aspect for a long time. That's not to say that the original style has been lost completely, just look at those miserable looking soldiers! As somebody who loves that art style, I think that rewarding progression via the visual transformation of the base is a nice reward, almost as nice as when you finally get that fancy new armor. And it happens to make the game easier on the eyes... I was never a fan of the black boxes, and even though I would have loved lights at night, I am somewhat contented by the way that cities pop-out on the new geoscape, making it feel far more alive than the old one did. Big fan then. Can start playing again now that we're on the home straight...
  14. As am I- see attached screenshot which shows my approach to a light scout. Note this is on 19.4, my first mission on a new game.
