well, i really liked the demo (except the UI) with Xenonauts and the new X-Com we can have the best of both worlds.

Xenonauts can't use alien weapons, but they can research them and produce their own hardware. (correct me if i'm wrong)

My mistake, i forgot to clarify, at start you would be able to select east or west xenonauts, each one with their own set of weapons and vehicles, but when alien threat becomes too evident, they both join forces under player control (may be after a story mission?) After this event you gain a new base and financial aid from your former "enemy"

i agree, a few story missions with special objetives and severe consecuences on fail will be great (but no special loot and characters please) It's a cold war setting, how about another organization like Xenonauts of the eastern block? at first it'll be played by AI but at mid-end game they can join forces and become player-controlled.

@Gorlom: i only played the first game of the afterX series but "smell vision" sounds funny. @dekamme: how about high rank alien snipers with see-through-walls-vision and nasty rifles with AP Plasma Rounds (?)

I think all aliens races can see the same visible spectrum than us. 1- What if some of them can see IR, UV, through the walls or better at night? 2- high rank psionic aliens can have some kind of ESP. Why eagles? the medals should not use any US or another country symbols. (like bears for soviet ones) This is a medal from United Nations, we can have something similar but with another phrase. or UNIFIL Peacekeeping medal (sorry for my english, not my native languaje)
