  1. Hi guys, just installed the new patch and the new GUI and starting screen are really cool, you're awesome guys, thanks! Only one thing, would it be possible that you guys add the wiki data to the workshop screen for aircraft and vehicle weapons like range, damage, rate of fire etc.? I think it would be a really nice feature for players who don't have all data in their head and have to look it up in wiki every time they research a new weapon. And yeah I found something I'm not really sure if it is a feature or bug.... ;-) On one map I couldn't attack an alien inside a building at the entrance(door was open) with the shock baton, shooting down was no problem, unfortunately I forget to do a savegame, but at least I did a screenshot(attached).
  2. Hey Drages, please see attached files. Always when I want to load the the quicksave a second time in game the screen freezes. I can load it only once when I freshly start the game, than it is possible to load it. After I have loaded it and try to load it a second time the game crashes and I have to logout/restart my computer. I will delete the internal folder again and deactivate the Ultimate Ambient Sounds (UAS) pack as someone posted here and see what happens and if it "fix" the problem again. I really want to finish this crash site.... keep finger crossed. ;-) Quicksave.sav GCOMBAT 4.sav
  3. Hi Drages, sorry, I don't have a "broken" quicksave game at the moment as I always overwrite it, but I will save at the beginning of each fight from now on a separate savegame and when the quicksave game starts to crash I will post both savegames here in the forum. I hope this is fine for you.
  4. Hey guys, as I have pretty the same problem, with the quicksave games. But here is a little "trick" which I use when the game start to crash... I quit the game and do the step 5 of the installation guide on the first page "5. Delete your C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts\internal folder " afterwards I restart the game and load the (prior "broken") quicksave game, which runs then quite stable for a longer time. I know it does not fix the problem, but sometimes it is quite useful e.g if you are in end of a mission and the game always freezes e.g. at mission end screen and doesn't change to the geoscape screen. At least I was so able to finish some of my crash sites missions, maybe it helps some of you, too.
  5. Hi, I'm middle of September (Phase I) and had over 10 ground missions so far and want to share my first impressions. Ground Combat I like the behaviour of the aliens more now. I have the impression that the AI acts a little bit more nasty e.g the alien throwing grenades and takes cover or hide behind walls afterwards, no more pointless rushing to the player. I had quite often such situations were I thought .... "Not again, this little fuc**r...." ;-) The "open doors policy" makes the missions more exciting now as it can be dangerous to rush to fast to the UFO, there can be always someone who opens the door and shoots you... Personally I think the magazine size of the shotgun is little bit to small, 8 or 10 rounds would fit much better. I ran quite often out of ammo in the middle of a fight. Possible Bugs(I not sure if there were already reported) If I pick up grenades I don't see the picture of it in the UI, I see only black background with a one and can use it (see pic 1) I is possible to use an alien weapon with a shield/medipack in the second hand( see pic 1) I definitely killed some reaper, but I have no autopsy report or a research for the reaper. (pic 2) not really a bug, but maybe you should adjust the text in the description for laboratory and workshop were is stated ".... will house up to 15 scientist/engineers" and for living rooms ".... up to 35 personnel" to the correct figures.

  7. Hi Charon, just wanted to report, that if I building a heavy fighter I see in the aircraft equipment screen a foxtrot as an under construction plane. I know it is only a "cosmetic thing" but however maybe it is interesting for you. And I noticed that if I equipping a soldier with a katana and shield at once, the shield disappears during the missions and I see only soldier with a Katana, but after the mission I see the shield as a secondary again in base during the equipment phase. Is the katana an one hand weapon or two hand weapon? But the more interesting thing I noticed later, it is possible to "replicate" the Katanas. I don't how it happened exactly in my game, as I build only 1 katana mk 2 during the game and try it out as described above, but discarded to use it. Later I noticed that I have 4 Katanas in my stores. And now I'm able to replicate them by first adding one Katana as primary weapon, then if an add a additional one in my backpack by right clicking and afterwards moving this one as a second weapon, the counter magically goes up by one again and I'm able to remove the second Katana and repeat the second step as often as I want, every time I receiving an additional Katana . I don't know if someone else already has reported this and you are already aware of this..... Further I have a question, it seems that I have nearly the same problem as other players here with the research progress. I don't have any new things to research since weeks now( I had already a comparable situation at end of phase 1). I'm at phase 3 now (End Feb 1980) and it seems for me that I have missed to capture some alien specialist although I was capturing everything I could or is my progress "normal" for my phase? Best armour: predator, alphawolf and only buzzard with jets Weapons: MAG mk 3(not all only 3 guns), Plasma mk 3(not all only 4 guns) Vehicle: hunter, defender, seeker, scimitar - for e.g. I can build a mag machine gun but have no chassis to place it. Aircraft: Shrike, Corsair, Heavy Fighter
  8. I agree fully agree with Sectiplave, so don't worry kottis about the easy life you will see and feel the change between phase 2 and phase 3 air combat sooner than you prefer. P.S. Anyone has a good strategy against the heavy fighters in phase 3? They are really like pain in the ass for me and especially in connection with a big UFO. I try to get them first down, but mostly I don't have enough time and I come in the weapon range of a big UFO and than it is only a massacre on my side. I use mostly two sonda/heavy fighters with hyper or plasma missile and plasma gun and one bomber(lancer or foxtrott) with gravity torpedo. Maybe my weapon load out is shit? Once the fighters are down the big UFO is no problem with "bait technic".
  9. Hi drages, Thank you for the answers so far. I have some more questions regarding the ground combat and you seem to be the right person for that. Would be great if you could explain to me the stun/capturing system a little bit more. I mean do hitpoints have any impact of the success to stun an enemy? For me it seems that there is a separate "hitpoints bar" for stun damage and the hitpoint damage level of an enemy has no direct impact on the chance to stun it?! I had this idea to use a knife in one hand to give an enemy a few strikes with it and than to stun it with a stun pistol shot - some kind of a combo attack to capture enemies faster. But it never worked, the alien even could take some more shots from a stun rifle of a mate or stun pistol although the next strike with the knife or a shot from a gun killed alien finally. Are there any other factors which have an impact to stun? I mean like suppress fire or flash bangs, fire generally or smoke? For me it seems that only stun gas and "emp smoke" have some impact and enemies fall faster unconscious. Thanks.
  10. Hi, I just started to play this mod a week ago, before I played the plain vanilla game a year or so ago and I must confess I really enthusiastic about this mod. I'm at phase 2 now and want to share here my impressions from the mod so far. Air combat: Really demanding and in some places a little bit of unfair but life ain't easy right?! And at least I learned to handle it or least I hope so, but believe me it was a long way(I don't use the easy air combat mod). Here is my tactic for the people who are also struggling with the air combat, maybe it helps someone. I try use one of my planes as a bait to catch attention of the enemy, once I have it I let the UFO follow my plane in the "desired" direction during that I try to sneak with my other planes behind the UFO's out of their weapon range and shoot them down. I always fight at full acceleration it helps me to escape the enemy fire at the outside limit of their weapon range. And dude try to get the Gravity Torpedos as soon as possible as they make your life really much easier at phase 2 at least. My question is why does the Lancer Bomber has only one heavy weapon hardpoint like the Foxtrot I mean the plane is much bigger can carry more load, the higher HP and a little more speed are not so significant that it makes sense to build it or would a second hardpoint make it to imbalanced? Ground combat: Here the same point which was already mentioned, once you start to have large crash sites with bigger UFOs it is sometimes hard to storm the bridge of the UFO as you have there 8 or even more enemies. Besides I would like to see alien units with shields which try storm and try to kill your units with melee weapons or in other words more melee fights, please. Not only more reaper and infected. Questions/hints: Please could also someone post a list with races which can be stunned/EMPed or not? For e.g I tried to stun infected civilians, Androids (to be honest I nearly tried everything stun ^^) it do not to work for some races, so I pretty sure it is not possible, but who knows maybe I haven't forced it enough and there are some more research to discover?! When will be that next troop carrier available? As I wrote I'm in phase 2 now, so who needs to be stunned or what captured I'm ready for anything... I can build the hunter, defender and seeker vehicle but I can't place canons on them. Is it possible at all or do I need another chassis for that? Maybe some can post a whole list with all chassis and the phase when they become available? The same would be also great for planes.... Last but not least a big thanks to the developer crew for this great mod and the gaming fun. Please note English isn't my first language so if you find mistakes you can keep them....
