Wow. Just saw the PCgamer cover story on their website. Totally missed that a Xenonauts 2 was being considered! I heartily approve and would support another kickstarter or self funded effort. Love the concept tests, looks great. Keep moving it forward.

Steam Keys - How To Claim!
wonderboy2402 replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts-2 Releases & Patch Notes
Got my key, downloaded, and played for long hours today. Congrats on finally arriving to steam. -
Been away, I guess I missed some stuff?

Nice update. The preview tilesets while spartan, have a good color palette. I remember the early previews of the maps looked a bit half baked for such a dark and menacing game. (Yes, X-com colors looked goofy too, but remember early 90s) Game is looking better and better visually. Can't wait in three months time to start seeing more polished level design.

How to download Xenonauts without using Desura!
wonderboy2402 replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
I'm totally confused now. Do we have to install Desura to play the latest build if we bought the game? Is there a standalone download that is the uptodate build? Where?- 164 replies

First time impressions from an X-COM Veteran
wonderboy2402 replied to diebagger's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
I am not sure if they were going to do these tiles. But a ocean / beach front that could be assault / defended from could be cool. I doubt they would do a full blown underwater experience but maybe for the sequel. -
I'm not entirely clear on what is in or not in with the cover system. But one thing I always liked was the ability to see the "cones" of cover. Where holding down a key, will basically show your lines of fire and any intervening terrain pieces. So you know where you have shots and coverage and where you are exposed. I think ladders and crouching behind cover against walls are things discussed and definitely should be implemented.

I love the music. Great stuff! In fact, playing the demo for the first time and getting the tension like I did from X-com... mostly due to the music! Nailed it. I kicked in on the kickstarter just now and had to share.

I checked throughout the day and right before I go to bed, new post! Nice! Like the crashed ship, can't wait to see the interior.

Sounds like a pass for me then. Just wait for a steam sale and patches / fixes.
