So I've been thinking, there's a lot of interesting stuff that at this point isn't clear if it will make the final cut or not and at least some of it...

So I've been thinking, there's a lot of interesting stuff that at this point isn't clear if it will make the final cut or not and at least some of it seems like a real damn shame to me. So I thought it might prove to be useful to create a tracking list for all the contents that has been slashed out of the game but could remain in the assets directory for possible future modding. This would make this thread different from this one in the fact that it deals with stuff thats in the game, only incomplete and not completely kicked out of the game (like the example of the Russian ballistic weapons).

Warning: SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON

So here it goes:

Aircraft
Marauder

Armor
Colossus tier 4 heavy armor

Vehicles
Warrior tank
Archangel tank
Terrapin Mecha

Weapons
Flame thrower
Plasma Torch
Alien Flame Thrower

UFOs
Dreadnought

Aliens
Scuttler (this one seems to have been scratched out completely from day 1, but its name is still in the assets so i'm guessing that Chris and his team might have more on this in their archived dev versions)

If I forgot anything else, feel free to add it. Hope this gives ideas for some relatively easy mods for the game's future when its released

Since version 18.5 I can finally play some missions although I still have frequent crashes to desktop at end of missions or when I try to save the game.
The game looks pretty good but what I don’t like at all is the fact that all soldiers are very easily and fast promoted to commanders within a couple of missions. I don’t want to fight with a crew of commanders which is completely unrealistic and would spoil a lot of the fun for me.
Is it not possible to restrict promotion based on the number of soldiers like in x-com apocalypse, e;g 1 cpl for 4 soldiers; 1 sgt for 4 cpl….
Also Charlie crew should be raised to 12 again because with terror missions 6+tank is much too low.

I still hope that there will be a history list on my soldiers, also the KIA ones.

Tried searching "Fog of war", but the words are too short. SO apologies if this gets asked and answered all the time.

Is there any way to disable to FoW? I've been playing with Lightgemini's sight mod and I really like being able to see most of the map. What I don't like is mowing down the poor aliens from a distance. I know I could mess with weapon ranges or accuracy, but what I'd probably want to do is change the drop-off after the optimum range is exceeded, and that's hardcoded.

So turning sight ranges back and FoW off might be a compromise.

So anyone got these crash problems I'm getting?I remember in v 13...v 14 and so on...Even in V 18.4 I would get this strange triple combat music when I'm in combat with my three fighters vs 3 of the aliens fighters.Basically what would happen is...Battle start, triple music starts, combat goes normal after that...Crash...Anyone know anything about this...

Also with the v 18.5 I'm getting another problem...Like I was excited to try out this v for the white tile glitch...but.
I loaded the game...I did ready my units up... bought what I needed then went Into my first mission.Everything went allright about half of the mission I think.Didn't encounter any bugs...Then all of the sudden...POP.CTD.
I was like Ok...I'll just load up the game up again and load the mission from the start.Everything went like it originally did...including the crash...After that I didn't load up the game till yet...And I'm not sure if I want to load it up if this thing is gonna keep popping up...I mean I don't to save the game every minute just to be sure I don't lose progress...

I have recently started playing the beta, briefly 18.3 now 18.5, and whether it is bug or intended on crash sites most of the remaining aliens will run out of the crashed UFO into the open when my troops approach the UFO.
Now when I play the original xcom I have many fond memories of having to plan how to breach the ufos knowing aliens
were hiding inside waiting for me
I would have troops do stackups on the doors and use grenades of different kinds before rushing into the ufo; it was for me one of the tense moments on every ufo mission because of how dangerous entering them was.

Now after awhile I did learn that if you waited long enough the game let the aliens see you and they would come running out the door which could be easily exploited.
But I was just thinking it might be worth looking into maybe having some aliens stay inside and hide behind cover and
just plan to ambush you.
Currently in this build they ether run out at you or they sit at the end of the ufo in the open staring at the door or even worse staring at the other door.
I just want xenonauts to have fun but challenging UFO entries.

Note I have only played a month and a half into my current game so I have not gotten to the bigger ufos.

Chris - The last month or two I've had a lot of problems with time outs trying to access the website. It appears to be intermittent, but regular. I'm pretty sure it is something in the Goldhawk or Goldhawk ISP side as the problem has occurred on multiple computers and multiple ISP's on my end. I just thought I'd make you aware. I don't know your infrastructure, but one place to consider is heavy remote access to the server that does your website during work hours. The problem seems to be the worst in the morning here in the Pacific time zone. That's about seven or eight hours behind you guys in England.

It's on sale on Steam, and I had been eagerly awaiting it... but today, I was reading several reviews of how the tactics have been really dumbed down, and that the game is very linear, and the maps are not random in any way... and suddenly, I found myself going from eagerly wanting it, to taking it off my list.

Still looks really nice, and I love the atmosphere... I hope I'm not going to regret passing it up (...it's $13!).

Certainly a huge range of opinions on it... with the pro reviewers going crazy for it, and several gamers bashing it for being dumbed down, linear and short. Replayability and randomness are things I insist on, so that news was disappointing, to say the least...

Instead, I'm waiting on Xenonauts to hit Steam.

So i've been reading a few posts here and there and i'm having issue that should have fixed in 18.3 or 18.4. (Like not being able to see inside crashed ship. Sometimes in big building like the big mall. Half the time anyways.)

Is it just desura breaking the game?

I've bought and downloaded the game few days ago, 18.4 was already out. I've verified the game 5 times and reinstalled the game once.

Did the bug come back for everyone or im just victim of desura handing out random builds?

I can't play the game for 30 min without a severe bug or 2 hours without a game breaking bug (like losing all my cash trying to build the second vehicle, or air battle simply... breaking)?

Basically, i'm asking if there is something more i can do, or if thats the current state of the game?

EDIT: Just noticed the launcher says v18 HF1 4April, is that relevant? My enemies do barrel rolls so i assume this mean i got 18.4 HF1, or should i just ignore this?
